Hardly common big time player for player deals.

But when you're trading a 'hardly common' player like Graham then you can expect the deal itself will be 'hardly common.'

you are multiplying two really small probabilities together, that doesn't mean the situation becomes more common, it get's harder to accomplish.

We aren't trading Jimmy, especially not for a mid first round pick

The cap space saved from not signing jimmy long term is how u get an extra proven player in free agency, trade will be for draft picks mainly

I'd consider it for a long LONG time.

Belichik would trade him in a heartbeat with the new contract coming around.

Trade him and we could pickup a stud WR, an athletic OLB/CB and a center in the midrounds.

Team would be stacked. Our 2nd and 3rd TEs are pretty solid as is.

proven commodity or take a risk on someone who may not pan out in the draft?

If i felt more comfortable with our WR corps i would. But with our situation now, no way. Not for just 1 pick.

Would an extra 2nd or 3rd next yr be enough to sway your mind?

So you pass on the ability to improve your team due to lack of confidence in your ability to draft correctly?

I hope our FO doesn't plan that way.

I think the Saints wouldn't take a trade like that for Graham unless they knew he wanted max money and to be out of the city of New Orleans.

He has always said he wanted his QB to be Drew Brees for his whole career, so I don't think the guy will screw us over in such a manner.

In order for me to even consider trading him, he has to want a ridiculous amount of money, want out of the city of New Orleans,

only then would I take a 1st round this year and a high round pick next year.

Other than that someone will have to give up two or three 1st round picks.

He is a proven commodity, that is very hard to find in the NFL and most teams won't give them up no matter the cause

ETA:

He is freaking all pro TE, you are not giving him up without a HUGE DEAL, which most teams are not wiling to take a risk on
