Listening to him speak, the guy sounds like he knows what he is doing and sounds more in touch than Loomis. Do you think he's the one that got away and the Saints will regret not transitioning him into that GM role?

Do you think Atlanta has ascended since he got there? There is your answer

Do you not think there trajectory is pointing upwards? You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise, in contrast to Saints and Loomis.

One team is pointing up.
One team is pointing down.

Agree, but his hire at HC is a retread head scratcher.

He’s had three top 8 picks and over $60 mil in cap space to work with and has already fired the first HC he helped hire

Turns out the whole GM thing is easier with a top 5 QB of all time and a top 5 HC

Strange how everyone in this thread didn't consider starting points. In vogue to trash saints I suppose

Well I mean they're being invegstigated for tampering. If he would tamper here we'd have 47 Draft Picks taken away.

Fontenot ignored his all-time worst defense and kept drafting skill position players. Robinson was a luxury pick. Pitts, Drake and Robinson are all good players, but good franchises use top 10 picks on the hardest to get players in football (QB, LT, CB, DE).

What makes everyone in here think that Atlanta is "pointing in the right direction?"

Lets see since the super bowl in 2016:

2017 - 10-6
2018 - 7-9
2019 - 7-9
2020 - 4-12
2021 - 7-10
2022 - 7-10
2023 - 7-10

What in the Raheem Morris and Kirk Cousins was I thinking? Ya'll are right. They are really pointing up there.

The cousins' signing I like. I think they will be improved if he stays healthy. If he doesn't, terry will probably be fired with Morris.

I like Cousins, but he's 35,. coming off an achilles tear, and had far better talent and coaching in Minnesota. I am biased a bit, but I don't think he's gonna make them instant division winners.

With that they are paying Cousins, this is almost a certainty.

Based on what exactly? I don't think Cousins is much better than Carr, if at all and I don't see anything else indicating they are moving up and we're moving down. Sounds like toxic Saints "fan" syndrome.

Considering the fact that we would be stuck with Loomis regardless, I prefer Harley & Ireland. Don't know much about the new Pro personnel guy, Parenton, that took over Fontenot's role.

If you told me I could have Fontenot and we could walk from Loomis, I would not mind rolling the dice on Fontenot. If we don't see the improvements from Fontenot, I have faith the front office would move on; I don't think Loomis leaves until Loomis wants to leave

They drafted a tight end with no one to throw him the ball.

They drafted a running back at #8 at a time in the NFL when running backs have no value.

They said, "Desmond Ritter...that's our guy"

Kirk Cousins is a good sign, but he is not the second coming of Pat Mahomes that many in the media portray him as. He is an older version of Derek Carr with a weaker arm.

They have needed defensive help for years and have not addressed it.

At least the saints knew they had an issue at OT and tried to address is with Trevor Penning; they just whiffed on the pick. Better that than to ignore positions of need to draft a running back.
