Saints will have more than half of their cap ($76m) not playing on Sunday. To call a win a miracle is a minor understatement.

With our recent bad investments, minus Drew, I actually don't think that'd a terrible thing.

I find it funny how we have one of the highest if not the highest salaries in the league yet suck in all phases of the game. Defense is terrible, o-line is a joke, no WRs, yet we pay these bums millions for nothing. Really shows you what kind of GM we have. That Byrd signing is a big bust. I can't remember the last time the Saints paid that much for someone and got ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in return. If he lasts past next season I'll be surprised.

Loomis's and Payton's days in NOLA are numbered because they are going to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they are no longer capable of building a competitive NFL roster.

Loomis was never a talent eval guy, he's always been just the bean counter. Payton is the real player personnel GM, and, so, this is really his fault.

Then again, didn't Rob Ryan say that he was "pleasantly surprised" when he heard the news about Byrd? From what I understand he was never even consulted about the hiring. I don't know if that was just a HC/GM thing or what, but I found that to be pretty alarming. I really don't blame him for what is being put on the field, if we had good players out there they would shine through the mediocrity. Everyone out there looks mediocre to poor to me.

A lot of us thought that Coach Payton was as talented as Bill Parcells at building NFL rosters. We were very wrong.

Coach P is very talented, and he's an outstanding coach, but, he's not GM player personnel material.

The real problem is that they've been absolutely terrible in the draft since their first one in 06. I mean absolutely horrendous. So because we cut so many of those guys we have to constantly pay out these usually hefty contracts to FA's to fill of our needs. Which is why we've basically been playing a dangerous game of limbo with the salary cap for years. You cannot have sustained success in this league without drafting well.

Thank god we finally had what seems like our best overall draft in nearly 10 years.

Just shows you how bad their drafts have been, when 2 of your top 3 picks aren't contributing, and yet this year's draft is maybe the 2nd best since Payton arrived.

Totally false talked to Rob once last year before the season started when I met him at Newman, and he said when he found out loomis could afford Byrd he told Mickey and Sean to go all in on Byrd.
