Words I thought I would never say. “We should bring Peat back.”

If we can’t find a LT in the draft or trade bringing Peat back on a 1 year deal might be our best option. I have always been a big Peat hater for being a giant walking clitoris but I have to give him credit for playing well after he was swapped around with Hurst and put out at LT. Maybe we get by with him one last time. On the bright side if we suck arse we will be picking high enough next year to take Will Campbell if we wanted to!

We have to bring Peat back before the league year starts. If they don’t get a deal in place before the deadline, they’ll have a $13.6M dead cap hit hitting the books plus the contract for Peat or his replacement. They need to get him on a 2 or 3 year extension so they can slowly work off that dead money instead of taking a huge hit.

We are going to have a completely new system and he may not be a fit for the zone blocking scheme. If they want him back then bring him back for cheap, if not let’s get younger and cheaper.

He’s not going to be “cheap” after playing how he did last season. You can’t go into the season without a sure thing at that position

It’s sad that I don’t know if this is an argument for or against bringing Peat back

It would be a good thing to bring peat back as a competent veteran that can play both LG and LT. He’s definitely not the solution but would be a great insurance piece for the right price. Big question is with $30 million extra for all teams what’s his value?

Good damn question. I really don't have a clue. Play well sometimes at LT early on and at guard but most times I wanted to shoot my TV. Then is pressed back into his old position and as someone said 'saved our season'. Did he finally get it? Did he hate playing guard? Played out for a new contract/team? Coaches will need to earn their money with this one.

If Carr has another lackluster season it's time to take the hit on all the dead money contracts and start over with a total rebuild even it means enduring a terrible season to get a top 5 pick to get a chance at a franchise changing QB

i agree to bring back, but with his history, i dont think his demand will be high unless its over paying for a year or 2 at most.

We should be able to get him on a solid 2 year deal, but loomis will overpay.

2 years $25 million would be good with me.

I’d rather keep Hurst and find someone to back him up.

Hurst was brought in to be a backup. I don't think he would contribute to us having a top 15 line in the NFL. We are at the bottom right now.

You know, I had a chance to do a prop bet on Saint Rant postings regarding if someone would use the words "Andres" "Peat" and "clitoris" in the same post. I passed. Another opportunity blown.

Peat is judged based off of his draft pick. He's a solid combo guy. Gonna play for a long time.

He may be our best option by default because the rest of them are dropping like flies. Penning needs to move to guard to avoid being a complete bust. Ram is damaged goods. McCoy is adequate. We need to concentrate on OL in the draft and pick someone who can actually play.
