Never understood why our drafts get ridiculed so much by fans. The only faults I find in our drafts is lack of draft picks, which 2 second rounders of course were taken from us in 2012,2013. If your team has 7 draft picks, hitting a homerun on 1 is good, hitting a HR on 2 is excellent. If you could get a couple of role players outside of that you had an excellent draft. You really should wait a couple years till you grade a draft class also. Most players make that big jump going into their 2nd season.

2013 we had 5 draft picks. I'd say Vacarro had an excellent rookie year and below avg last year since he also dealt with some injuries. Armstead was a HR, Jenkins has looked good this preseason, actually stood out to me against the Texans. Stills played great for us while here and we made a trade to bolster our defense. Technically, we hit on 4 out 5 in that draft. Hell, even Rufus Johnson looks good for the Patriots right now.

2014 we also only had 5. We hit a HR with cooks, and jury is still out on SJB and Powell. SJB is looking like he made a big jump from his rookie year. Sunseri will hopefully come back next year and be a good role player. We can grade 2014 after this season to see what they did.

2015 is obviously too soon to know. Seems like this has potential to be one of our best drafts ever.

Now 2012, pretty big blow from losing our 2nd rounder. Hicks seems like the only good pick in that draft. Yes, that draft sucked.

Overall, with the exception of lack of picks, we have done a good job with our picks.

Because you look cooler and generate more hits bashing than sucking and slobing.

He was good on special teams for us, sucks for him to have his first two seasons end on IR

Our next Ninkovich? Keep landing on IR, Saints cut ties and blows up somewhere else. Fans/Rant blame front office for letting him go.

Speaking of Vaccaro... he has had an unbelievably quiet preseason... what's his deal? I saw he didn't play Sunday but hasn't missed any practice. What's up?

I think coaches truly understand the worthlessness of preseason for proven players. I would expect that coaches feel Vaccaro knows what he is doing and doesn't need the game reps.

Stephone Anthony played a ton of series even though he is the clear starter probably so he can get the feel of making calls in "live game" situations.

But I forgot everyone is a star or bust based on year one.

Same board that wanted to call Peat a bust after 1 practice. And, now that they have called him a bust, they will argue they were correct with anything less than a HoF career

It's not just that he didn't play in the game, he's been quiet in practice as well. And this is a guy who was getting in fights his rookie season, and even last year was still being told he needed to dial it back a bit by the Veterans.

Only two players in the draft class can even make it more than one season with the team(one of them fighting to not fall to the 5th CB spot) but yeah still can't call it a bad draft.

You're right, having 8 guys on your active roster from 4 draft classes is excellent work. They should be commended.

When you have so much money available like the Saints what do you need cheap young players for.

Not to mention the great success the team has had with high priced free agents. Only a fool would worry about the draft.

Well we better hope this draft class is good. We need it desperately.

Half of them are already pushing to get into the offensive/defensive rotations and all but PJ Williams should be on the opening day roster, so a humongous upgrade from last year.
