Just saw another awesome part of the Saints winning, with Atlanta losing today, they will pick right in front of us too

You "super fans" are right, what was I thinking? Who cares that Atl swept the Saints, we beat a 2 win TB team today so the Falcons get to pick 7 or 8 and we get to pick 13 or 14

TB picks in front over everyone. If they won today, only Tenn would have picked in front of them.

Thanks for explaining the blatantly obvious.

I hear you. I really do. But what could going 7-9 instead of 6-10 really have done in the mind of a fan?

Surely you see that picking 7 or 8 in every round of the draft is better for our team than picking 13 or 14, right?

This isn't about wanting the Saints to lose. They did that themselves 9 times coming into this game. At that point though, shouldn't we want the team to get high draft picks?

To quote Herm Edwards "You play to win the game! You don't play to just play. You play to win!" and that's why winning today is important...

You "super fans" are sort of like irrational women

There isn't a shred of logic in winning today, but it made you "super fans" feel good

You're really getting some mileage out of the quotation marks today.

You know we have different FO's right? And believe me, I know the Saints have made some bad 1st round picks. But they have made some great later round picks. This affects every draft position in 2015. And wouldn't you rather the chance they do better this year and they pick a guy at #8 that wouldn't have been there at #14?

I don't want the Saints to lose, but the season was lost. Now they lost 5 spots or more in the draft as well. It was a lose lose.

Consider this to make it even worse.

Teams often trade draft picks to move up right?

For instance, a team drafting 14th may trade their 1st, 2nd and a 4th to move up to 8th.

Or a team drafting 50th will trade their 2nd and a 5th to move up to 43.. etc.

By costing ourselves 7ish positions each round.think of all the draft picks we effectively lost due to the trade value plummeting

They have to be there. Because some of you guys would lead us to believe we're not real fans for wanting the Saints to have a higher draft pick.

Yea, and ours has done pretty terrible lately. So what's the big difference in 5 picks?

Why is it relevant. None of us play or have any impact on the game. So who gives a shite what any of us think.

How many teams have picked behind the saints and picked better players than us. Plenty

How many teams have we picked behind and picked better than those teams. Plenty. You just have to no how to pick em. There's like 1000 to chose from.

The logic is that the players are getting paid a shite load of money to compete and play. What is your logic? That they get a high draft pick? That doesn't guarantee that the players will be any better than someone picked in the second round. look no further than Jean Baptiste, he is getting outplayed by UFAs. So , why don't you take your negative bandwagon jumping arse off of this board and go cheer for another team because we don't need you.

Picking #7 instead of #13 is huge in terms of giving a team more options. Once draft day starts anything can happen. If a star player we don''t want but someone else does falls to us at #7, that can allow us to add another asset perhaps a second rounder which can be huge in the long run. True fans want what's best for the team and whether you care to admit it or not, losing today's game was the best option for the saints. At the very least they should've played the backups just to see what they actually bring to the team.
