Manning only needs 266 yards I think.

And Denver still hasn't locked up the #1 seed right?

Gone.

They let Manning go for the TD record even when he should have been out of the game so they will let him bomb away this week.

It will fall and I'll be glad when it does. The records mean nothing in the big picture.

Drew isn't playing well and maybe his prevcious records going down will spark better play.

This x 100. Holy hell, some of you are rational thinkers after all!
ETA: I've heard numerous people in person and on the radio here in NOLA blame everything and everyone BUT Drew Brees. I think Brees deserves more of the blame for the loss yesterday than the run game does. That was the 1st game I've seen Ingram do well in 2 seasons. Then, when he gets going, y'all yank him out for Sproles or someone else. I watched that game in astonishment yesterday.

while it's nice to see a Saint in the record books, passing yds is one of the most overrated records in sports

If he breaks it then expect all games to stop instantly.. Even if a play is occuring so we can all sing in praise of P Manning.

Brees breaks a record and you are lucky if they even mention it.

the game was stopped when Brees broke the Unitas streak -- a more impressive record than TDs in a season and much, much more impressive than passing yds

I was actually watching the game in New Orleans yesterday. I heard several fans calling for Brees' head actually. I was critical, as were many, but some took it to an extreme. Many were saying he needs to be replaced, which led to me almost getting in a fight with the bus boy. The ignorance really came out after that game, and showed how spoiled this fan base is.

To be fair, I am pretty sure Ingram was hurt. He went to the locker room.

Ah, that is true. I did forget about that. Ok, well damnit.
Yea, calling for Brees's head is, well, retarded obviously. But I don't like how the news/local radio, etc seem to always give him a free pass and always blame the Oline for shitty passes. Sometimes that's warranted but yesterdays game, to me, felt more like a Brees bad game.
