Probably the guys that survived the purge, curry and marrone Co-OCs, then make Gruden a more active consultant to give people hope the offense will be kind of overhauled

Who would want to work for DA? I can’t imagine anyone worth a crap will want that job.

Imagine a man who boards the Titanic after it hit the iceberg. That’s the kind of offensive coordinator they can get. Someone desperate.

A list of potential OCs to discuss.

Shane Waldron
Greg Olson
Jay Gruden
Eric Bieniemy
Ken Dorsey
Brian Griese
Jerrod Johnson
Klint Kubiak
Zac Robinson
Frank Reich
Joe Brady
Brian Johnson

But it will probably be Ronald Curry.

It really could be Gruden. No one who has credibility as an OC will take this job because of the current roster situation and uncertainty with the HC. No emerging assistant looking to take the next step will push their chips due to the uncertainty with the HC.

What you are left with are failed/fired head coaches that have offensive coordinator backgrounds. They won't be afraid of the situation with Allen because they will likely get a shot if/when he is finally canned.

Pretty safe to say there isn’t a respectable current employed OC that is going to make a Lateral move to come here in what likely appears to be a one year stint. Nobody is that dumb so that removes a portion of your list. I like the idea of Griese but he is on an upward trend and this would be a very risky move for him.

Not you, but this is the mentality some people think the FO has. It’s not a winning mentality. Easiest schedule. Many believe the HC is terrible. Rumors that the FO wants to get rid of Sean Payton players. Rumors the players don’t like the starting QB. Salary cap issues . Old players. Unimaginative OC to start year. Etc.

A good org would have gotten double digit wins this year.

It'll be someone from one of 3 groups. Already on the staff and will take the promotion because they actually want to be an OC. A retread, or recently terminated HC, looking for something to keep their name relevant. A young up and comer that may not be ready for an OC role but has an opportunity to prove himself in an offense with a lot of pieces already in place (depending on who we lose to salvage DA's feelings)

Even if this was the top available opening for an OC, they still wouldn't be able to make a lateral move without the current team authorizing the interview, and the Saints either promoting them from their current position or trading for them.

They’ll interview a bunch of mediocre guys and 1-2 guys that we might actually want and then ultimately land on Curry.
