Reggie Bush
Devery Henderson
Jeremy Shockey
Roman Harper
Randall Gay
Will Smith
Charles Grant

all these guys have underperformed, or either showed flashes but havent been able to sustain success with the Saints. They are all certainly capable.

now what happens if they all decide to show up???

Randall Gay?

Just doesn't seem like he fits on that list.

I say these guys have good seasons...not great, but good....or at least I'm hoping.

I thinl GW will have a bunch of exotic blitz plays designed around Harper.

Reggie had more hype than any player I've ever followed before, so I don't think thats your answer. Think he'll have a good year but his hype was unreachable.

Devery is what he is, we accepted it by now.

Shockey will be better but not near as good as he once was in NY.

Harper is the answer here. I think he was very much affected by the shitty over the top help from our past safeties and crappy coordinators. He will be much improved. How much hype did he really have though? Expectations I can see. Nevermind.

Randall Gay was a nickle corner for the Pats. He's always been a good depth, nickle, dime DB and really isn't a lock down starter in this league. Great guy to have on your team though, just doesn't belong on this list. Maybe we overpaid for him, but still.

Will and Grant both got a lot to prove this year.

Smith has had some good seasons... he was All Pro a few seasons back.

i think Will Smith is going to have the biggest year of anyone mentioned. By the end of camp he will be down to or near his rookie playing weight(274 at start of camp, 267-rookie season) while that's normally not a huge deal it is for Smith. He'll be the the player we saw in 2004-06 that could get consistent pressure, force fumbles, and sacks. he was a top tier end back then and there is no reason he can't be at the level again this year. i think a big reason for the defense's drop off the past two years has been due to the regression in his play. i know he was hurt last year but he seemed much slower and bigger in '07. a lighter, quicker smith is going to be a big deal for this defense.

What about one that is not on the list, Robert Meachem.

I hope it's Will Smith. If he can get anywhere near double-digit sacks that would be a huge turnaround.

I'd throw Jamal Brown on that list. He needs to cut down on the penalties.

If Reggie scores 18 all purpose TDs this season, would that be living up to the hype?

he's already lived up to the expectations that I personally had for him, so anything more is just a bonus in my eyes

18 TDs over 16 games is 1.125 TD/game.

1.125 time 7 is 8.

Over the first 7 games last season, Reggie was on pace for that...

Reggie Bush (can't live up to the hype. Just hope he can run between the tackles.)

Devery Henderson (I don't think he's disappointed. Everyone knew his hands were suspect but he was a speedster. I think "he is what we thought he was." - Denny Green)

Jeremy Shockey (He got to the team late last year. I think with TC and being here in the offseason he will explode with Brees throwing him the ball.)

Roman Harper (He HAS to do better under Williams.)

Randall Gay (Same as Henderson. I don't think anyone thought he would be a #1CB. He's a solid nickle/dime fill in #2.)

Will Smith (I really really really hope so, but I'm starting to loose a little faith in Smith.)

Charles Grant (Never has, so probably not.)

besides the penalties he's one of the top 5 or so LTs in the league. can't put him on this list.
