Makes no sense to me. I know this shite comes up every 1-2 years, but it really doesnt make sense to me this time with his personal situation, contract, and the team situation

No idea, but if a team is willing to throw us a 1st, I'd listen. And I love Sean

Some Chicago moron thought Pace would convince him to go there. Of course, Pace got fired cause he sucks so that got derailed.
Nationally Albert Breer, Boston man that never knew Boston was considered racist, had him maybe leaving for a different team one week then the next week had him leaving for TV so he's just throwing shite at the wall.

Raiders got 2 1st and 2 2nd for gruden, so yeah, maybe I've undervalued. I guess it would depend on where that 1st was. What if it were the 1-1 (Jacksonville)?

I like to think about stuff like this, but it won't happen... Sean will be here

Are you 12?

Every year jobs are open with lost and lots of money.

Teams want Sean Payton, he is a QB guru and a great offensive mind.

Not really rumors.

We should never trade CSP. We need to trade all substandard players (Thomas #1 trade).

I feel pretty confident Sean will never coach for another NFL. The amount of input and relationships he has within the organization is a huge factor.

That’s correct. Payton is as close to being a team owner as any coach in the league, including Belicheck.

These rumors surface almost every offseason.

Payton to Dallas
Payton to Indy
Payton to Chicago

Media hates when smaller market teams have good things

I don’t think Sean is going anywhere. He’s been engrained in New Orleans, apparently just bought a new house.

Anything short of 3 firsts, 2 seconds, and a good player, the Saints should just hang up the phone.

Considering a guy like Wilson is going to get traded for 2 1sts minimum, I am not answering the phone unless 5 are on the table as the opening offer.

Can you trade players for coaches?

The rumors started from fans that are writers/bloggers with shitty coaches putting together wish lists, and what they would trade.

I even saw an article saying that Sean should leave NOLA to go to their team because Drew left and the team here doesn't have a HoF QB and is against the cap. WTF, those are the situations that a coach like Payton would love when you consider the talent he has in most of the other positions. If he can get an above average QB that protects the ball, he'll have the team in SB contention. Especially when you figure Rodgers, Wilson & Brady are at the back end of their careers (Brady has to retire one day right?)

My theory is:

Most non-Saints people (especially fans) know that Sean is an elite coach, but they hate his personality so he gets underrated by the masses, while the same people secretly want him because he's a top 5 coach. Combine this with misconceptions about the team's salary cap and a lack of understanding about how involved Sean is in the construction of the roster.........and everyone sees it as an easy "go get that coach" scenario because 'he's so hated and that situation is SOOO bad' and really they're just fishing for a coach that is 10x more elite than anyone they will actually hire

He's staying until he wants to retire unless we legitimately have like 3 really bad seasons, and we've never even had one of those
