He did OTAs and mini-camp without any problems. He clearly aggravated something in his knee before training camp started.

This guy is a mega bust. Even if he comes back he's right back off the field with some new injury. Saints would be wise to part with him ASAP.

Might as well cut him next year. This team is rebuilding and will suck for another 2 years.

Not entirely true. While he was a full participant in Spring, it was reported that he experienced swelling and discomfort after those practices. Thus, keeping him out longer to fully heal, and to allow him to play without any pain or swelling.

Location of the tear on the meniscus makes a big difference. A friend of mine took 10 months to get back to normal and his was on the outer edge. Supposedly the further in the longer typically to heal.
