So its seems that we will have a early 1st round pick. What player out there do you think will fit out system the best? My pick would be Robert Nkemdiche from Ole Miss. He's 6'4 296 lbs; but I still think he's slightly undersized. We need a run stuffer on the line and we can all agree that Jenkins is not cutting it.

If I had to go offense, the sexy pick would be Lynch from Memphis. But we know that Brees have 2 to 3 years in him and you know QB's these days don't want to sit as a rookie; though he would look good sitting behind Brees learning to be the next think coming.

Who do you guys think we should draft? What are some sexy and non sexy picks?

I'm reserving an opinion until I know who's still around next season.

Noticed a lot of mocks have is taking ole miss players. Saw a few for nkemdiche and some for tread well. Don't really like either...think they are overrated. If we drop lower, Id really want Joey bosa

But why would they draft Lynch when they already have invested in Garrett Grayson as the future QB? Saints don't need to draft an offensive player in the first round, they need to go defense. The problem is, the Saints' 1st round defensive selections over the past few years have been average at best. Patrick Robinson was a total bust. The jury is still out on Vaccaro and Jordan. Sedrick Ellis was okay, but not worth a 1st rounder. Malcom Jenkins was also decent, but he wasn't a home run pick, just average for the Saints.

The Saints need to draft a defensive player who will be a game-changer, who will provide leadership and be what a 1st round pick is supposed to be, a great player.

I prefer Ogbah and A'Shawn over Nkemdiche.

I agree with the playmaker in the secondary . Ronald Darby can play FS/SS/CB/NB has great ball skills and can tackle in open field.

My bad, I meant Jalen Ramsey.

Only offensive player I would want us to consider in the 1st round is Treadwell. He would be a perfect fit for us and we badly need a WR. Otherwise, I would go defense, at least in the 1st round, while getting offensive linemen in the next round or two.

One that won't be on the team in 3 years most likely.

If Treadwell drops to #13 or whereever we pick, I would take him.

you think we'll be at 13? We should have the opportunity to take him around 8 or 9. There are currently 11 teams with an equal or worse record right now.

Saints Remaining Schedule:

vs CAR: W (We knock them off in the fearless pick of the week)
@ TB: L (They're figuring it out quickly)
vs DET: L (They're playing good ball right now)
vs JAX: L (Bortles, Robinson, Thomas and Hurns finna eat)
@ ATL: W (Because frick ATL)

That puts us at 6-10 unless everyone thinks I'm being too pessimistic.

6-10 would put us in the teens I would think.

Right now there are:

2x 2-9
3x 3-8
7x 4-7, including us

It is conceivable that most of these teams will win 1-2 games for the rest of the season. I would say our chances of having a pick in the 6 to 9 range are pretty high even with 6 wins.

I dont really see a 3rd rounder as an investment, at least with this team anyway. We've seen this team waste draft picks like a SJB as a second rounder.

Alot also depends on if Sean will even be around after the season ends. If we get a new guy here and he has a chance to take his guy in the 1st he will do so. GG may have a future here but that all strictly depends on if Sean will be around.

A'Shawn Hand or Shilique Calhoun. If we are seriously considering going to a 3-4 defense then I take Jarran Reed. I also like Jaylon Smith at olb. The ILB position is not deep this year, so if we go that direction, Ragland or Beckwith will have to be picked by round 2.

I am assuming Bosa and Nkemdiche are gone when we pick otherwise it's a no brainier to pick one of those two.

In a perfect world we trade down into the 15-20 range. Still lots of value.
