What about Mark Brunell as OC? He has been great up in Detroit as qb coach.

I have kind of gotten t know him over the years just kind of conversation type stuff. He would be really good and very good with a young qb also. Not sure on the play calling since he has not done it in the NFL. I think he would have gotten a promotion in Detroit to OC if Ben did not stay.

We might as well interview him a couple of times. We are interviewing everyone else.

Brunell would seem to have the same knocks on him as Brian Grease. Knows the QB position and offense as a whole but lacks real time coaching experience at a highly competitive level.

Doesn't mean it wouldn't work out but it's a gamble. I feel like they are targeting someone with maybe more experience even if they sacrifice some of the upside potential. Allen has to have early success in 2024 and sustain it or he will be gone.

I'm feeling more and more like it's Kubiak, but I would sure as hell hope they have discussed it with him enough to be confident that he has stated he's interested in the job and likely to accept it if they are waiting this long. Per Underhill they have not even offered the job to anyone yet so all this talk of being turned down by the best candidates is garbage talk.

Back to the point, I like Grease more than Brunell in that scenario but I don't think either really fits what they are likely look for IMO.

Getsy is also intriguing, and would seem to fit more of what they are looking for.
