Disappointing isn't even the word. So many were excited this off-season (including myself) with the return of players like Jimmy, Vaccarro, Brees, Lewis, the nasty defensive line, and Ingram coming to form and the additions of Cooks and Byrd. I mean plenty of the talking heads picked the Saints to go the distance; what a big fricking flop. Injuries, coaching issues, player performance, all were/are abysmal. There is not one thing to pin point this horrible season on, it's quite remarkable how much the Saints underperformed and it started from the first fricking game.

I'm just venting but I do hope they make it to the playoffs because I will always love watching Saints football!

Expectations in the NFL should never be had.

Disappointing? We might win the division. I don't care if we're 2-14 if we win the division that's a success

2-14 and the first pick would be way better than what we have right now.

So you're not disappointed by this team at all? Because we're barely in the hunt for a playoff spot? You're not disappointed by the fact our defense is damn near last in all statistical categories? Offense is flat (even if the numbers show otherwise).

it's just depressing to watch our team 90% of the time play this bad. honestly at times it looks like our team has the same amount of discipline as a D2 college team. with the exception of brees who's a boss.
anyway if we make the playoffs we will get embarrassed. its as simple as that

I'm just hoping we win the division and host the Seahawks.

how is controlling one's own destiny with 3 games remaining against teams with losing records "barely in the hunt"?

When you have a Jekyll and Hyde team like we do - dominating some very good teams and getting absolutely destroyed by some - That lack of consistency, it comes down to coaches.

This team is just not ready to play half the time, be it how they spend their personal time or whatever (yeah i do have an expectation that players maintain some level of focus/responsibility on the team outside of work so that they are prepared come Sunday - and i think this comes from the coaches)

On the good side this year because of the poor play I have saved a lot by drinking less bourbon.
So there is that.

No brown bag bourbon for me son.

Glad to see our traditions picked up by others!

Did you think about what you posted man? We went from being serious super bowl contenders to "might" win the division at 7-9/6-10. No matter how you slice it, it's disappointing.

I feel ya man. Just bizarre. I guess nothing is certain in the NFL ever.

With that said maybe they turn it around tonight.

I totally agree. I was just challenging the part about barely in the hunt. We're as much in the hunt as in much much better seasons.
