Kamara is having a career year. He only needs 68 yards against Carolina to have his fist 1,000 yard season. And he’s averaging a career best 5 yards a carry. He also has the most receptions and rushing TDs in his career.

If you look at all of our losses, CSP did not hand Kamara the ball enough:

LVR - Kamara had 13 carries and averaged 6.7 yards a tote
GB - Kamara only had 6 totes and averaged 9.7 yards a carry
PHI - 11 carries averaging 4.5 yards a carry
KC - 11 carries at 4.9 a tote

This guy is an absolute monster and we’re doing ourselves a disservice by not giving him the ball more. Especially now in crunch time and with our offense missing so many key pieces.

I see no reason for Kamara not to touch the ball at least 20 times a game.

In general, I think you're right. The silver lining in not using AK as much is that he will be fresher for the postseason. What will help even more is getting CGM back, which will prevent defenses from keying so much on AK, which is what KC did b/c we had no other real threats in that game and Drew was playing at only about 50%.

Think everyone on here would agree with you

Most people always want sean to run the ball more.

We were getting 5 yards a clip against the chiefs and just stopped running the ball

The stats will be skewed in losses since we were throwing more late vs running, but I tend to agree that running the ball more is almost always beneficial to this offense. We have 5 maulers up front. Let them maul.

I’m not gonna say they need to run kamara 20 times/game, but they absolutely need to let him touch the ball 20+ Times/game. He’ll be the best player on the field in every single playoff matchup before the Super Bowl except maybe Aaron Rodgers.

Payton played it the right way, don’t wear him out, go into the playoffs with your superstar healthy and fresh.

Kamara averages 18 touches a game

Establishing the run does not exist in a vacuum. Blindly just calling for more runs is not how it works

The saints already run the ball 47% of the time, 5th most in the league

Their pass play percentage ranks 28th in the league

Yea I’m not arguing the decisions of run or don’t run. My point was that in a win or go home situation, Kamara is the 2nd best player in the NFC playoffs. Find any way you can to get him the ball.

Don’t care who it is that gets the carries although I’d prefer more balance between Kamari and Murray. 15 attempts each would be nice. Payton has to learn to be patient. Doubt it happens but one can always wish.

We run the ball a good bit. What i kinda take from you post that you want to take away some of Murray’s touches. Although i don’t disagree that’s never what we’ve done here. Now in big games I’d like to see Kamara get a few more of Murray’s carries but in all honesty we’ve never used a single back system. The last 10-15 years has been a prime example of why you shouldn’t have a bell cow. The goal for Kamara should be to extend his career as long as possible and his usage will allow us to do that. But come playoff time I’d love to see Kamara act as the workhorse back and have Murray help us close games out. But you can never predict game flow but that imo would be the ideal situation come playoff time.

Yes X 1000%

And Latavious Murray is under used.

But CSP is a genius and nobody is allowed to question or criticize him.

CSP has won 76% of his games since AK41 got here

This year, AK will have career highs in

Carries
Rush yards
Rush TDs
Receptions
Receiving yards

Y’all same numbskulls were calling Kamara shite last year and will be bitching if he gets hurt from overuse. So ya, you aren’t allowed to question him

Only four teams run more often than us this year

27 teams throw it more often than we do

You won’t stop whining til we are 1st in rush and 32nd pass

That’s because we have had Taysom Hill at QB and you know that.

BTW, I won’t stop whining until we win another SuperBowl.

I’m tired of us blowing opportunities.
And we have blown many.

But you go ahead and be happy with winning %’s.

A QB who competes over 70% of his passes, most of the short variety, is effectively the same as a run game. Especially when Kamara is involved. The guy is going to flirt with 300 touches this year

Kamara is our leading receiver and leading rusher. He’s accounted for

21% of receiving yards
24% of our receptions
40% of our rush attempts
44% of our rush yards
39% of our TDs

One player

You’re arguing against a formula that’s been the most successful is the league. It’s tough to win a SB. We need every facet of the game to click, not just the run game, to get there

Correct

I’m not saying run Kamara 30 times a game.

Use Latavious Murray more.

And Kamara is our best WR after MT.
We have had WRs injured this year.

Anyway, it is tough to win a SuperBowl.
But we have the best opportunity this year since we blew the 49ers game when we arguably had our best team ever.

We have a very good defense and a running game this year.

If we stay healthy, we have the best team in the league.

Its crazy that AK is tied for the lead in rushing touchdowns. It would be dope if he would end the season with that.
