Not oppose to it at all...hell since sherman doesnt move throw graham on him sometimes too and have chancellor try to run with one of little speed demons.

i could see a nice little bubble screen where Jimmy blows up Sherman and Cooks races away from Chancellor into open field...dont know if it would work the way i see it unless Chancellor is about 7-10 yards off the line

May not answer, but I just asked Triplett on the twitters how often Sherman defended Colston in the playoffs. Maybe someone with PFF access (Hoodoo) could check that week's info?

All I have is this public article that has our DL dominating and, shockingly, Bennett owning Jahri Evans on the inside as opposed to Armstead (who graded very well) on the outside.

Just looked it up. Sherman was not the main defender of Colston in the playoffs. I think he was in the original match up for the regular season...Sherman was actually pretty on point for our playoff meeting according to stats...all of his tackles came on run support and he was only beaten once by Kenny Stills.

Just checked back in this morning for fun. As we thought, nothing more than a troll. And a bad one at that.

BTW, it may very well be that it will take 14-2 to have home field advantage this year. Who knows? I just think last night's game is no cause for a pre-coronation of the Seahawks, and I suspect they'll have some bumps in the road.

But it is obvious there is no dropoff in Seattle. So 13-3 seems like a safe bet. Which means we need 14-2 to guarantee homefield, which is the point of the thread.............

Hey Nostradamus, they still have 15 games left and anything can happen.

Makes sense. Sherman usually plays the outside receiver in a cover 3. We like to put Colston in the slot

that is a crazy hard schedule.

You basing that statement on the games you posted? Is that a joke? Besides 49ers away and Eagles away what do you consider a really tough game on their schedule?

Idc where the game's being played, going against Peyton is no small order. Also, Arizona and SF in their own division are good teams.
KC, Carolina, SD, and Philly were all playoff teams last season. That's over half their schedule.

The ole anything can happen line. Brilliant. Of course ANYTHING can happen. The point of the OP is it looks like Seattle once again will be the cream of the crop. And based on our last 3 trips there and the rest of the NFL playing there, we wont beat them at home in the playoffs. Just like they wont beat us in the dome. 13-3 is pretty reasonable for Seattle. So being better than that would be the goal.

May bring back bad memories/Jason David

This is a great illustration of what week 1's in the NFL mean...and it is something we had to learn first hand.

An up and coming team predicted by many to make the playoffs opening up on the road to face the Defending Super Bowl Champs...who would go on to run the away team out of the building.

Meanwhile elsewhere another team goes undefeated all the way to the Superbowl and loses to a wildcard team who barely made it into the Playoffs.

lessons learned from this snap shot in history...it doesnt matter who you are or what you have done all year...the team that catches fire at the end of the season...tends to win it all. week 1 is a long way away from SB Sunday.

I'm not trolling, just calling the obvious homerism and delusion in this thread.....i just read an entire page of how Saints fans think they matchup Y'all are even bringing up 40 times which is pretty pathetic imo.....did y'all even watch the games last yr?? They held Brees to under 150 passing yards....who else does that? And the "close" playoff game y'all keep mentioning? Seattle played pretty poor honestly, and still controlled that game. Playing them in the dome may be interesting, but talking about it is pointless.....i dont honestly believe that some of you think that N.O. wins home field....Seattle is a much better road team anyway

And it's also convenient to ignore that Wilson is getting better every game, plus it's a contract year......and Harvin healthy??

Jesus Christ, i'm just gonna stop now.....this is too easy

But y'all match up great

I have a feeling Zona will steal one from them this year. SF will win one. They'll drop one of the KC/Philly/Denver games and finish 13-3. If Harvin goes down, I think they lose 1-2 more games. I think 13-3 will get it done.

Harvin has to play 13 weeks straight without a bye...has he ever made it 13 weeks straight without getting hurt at any level?

RW is getting his money no matter what he does...Seattle will pay to keep him...its not really a contract year more or less a season long financial coronation

Colston has shown he can beat Maxwell and did in the playoffs to the tune of over a 100 yards and a TD.

Moore who probably runs a 4.7 - 4.8 now is being replaced by Cooks who runs a 4.3 dont tell me speed will not make a difference in this case that is a major upgrade.

Graham who had a torn plantar fascia in his foot which allowed a linebacker to cover him in the second meeting as oppose to Chancellor played a factor in coverage as well.

Now tell me this. If Colston is matched up on Maxwell(win), if Chancellor is on Graham, that leaves Earl Thomas to pick his options carefully...

support a nickelback over the top from a guy with 4.3 speed or leave him in man.

trust Sherman in man to man against a guy much faster than him...if he tries to jam and misses...boom

all the while leaving Graham and Colston in Man coverage...

Seattle will do their best to contain Drew and will drop several linebackers into coverage...meaning their 3-4 man rush will have to get all the pressure or Drew will have all day

...a blitz which they did 28% of the time last year will favor the Saints...Drew still has a check down in this formation as well.

see how this could get tiring...if you keep making Thomas make 3-4 decisions a snap...you can determine his tendencies and force their hand.

I love how this guy uses one game to state that Seattle is almost unbeatable. Did he even watch the game last night? Let's recap some things.

1st it was a 10-10 game with about 4 minutes to go in the first half.

Then the injuries caught up with the Packers defense and OL. They had a rookie center starting his first game ever played in the NFL, which makes a difference.

Rodgers had 2 first downs by run on 3rd down where he inexplicably decided to throw the ball.

They lost their starting RB to a concussion.

Seattle is going to be a very good team this year and one of the top 3 in the NFC if not league most likely, but stop giving them too much credit for yesterday and making 1 game into more than what it was, 1 game.
