The New Orleans Saints finish the year ranked 19th in the annual report card. The team scores above average in almost every category both for the facilities themselves and the quality of staff that works there, but there are two categories in which they lag behind other clubs. The first is the treatment of families; and while responses suggest the club is in line with most other clubs, the issue stems from lack of communication between the club and players’ families. Respondents suggested that it is a challenge for players and their families to get necessary information about services and offerings. The number one issue that Saints players would like to see improved is the food program. The Saints are one of only two teams that do not offer three meals a day to their players. The players feel like the food offerings are not up to the highest standards for a professional sports team and are looking for healthier and freshe

These rankings are odd.

Head Coach is a B-, yet they ranked 29th.

How does a team connected to New Orleans get a damn F for food?
quote:

They rank 28th overall in food taste
They rank 30th overall in food freshness
They are one of only two teams that do not provide their players three meals a day
Several players are looking for fresher, healthier and better-quality food. They do not feel the food program is up to the standard of a professional sports team.

it's because of the questions they posed

quote:

84% of players feel that head coach Dennis Allen is efficient with their time (22nd overall)
The players feel that Dennis Allen is somewhat willing to listen to the locker room (28th overall)

Allen doesn't let them run things so they're upset

Families don't get a say or to communicate so they're upset

yawn

You do realize there isn't an overall grade by letter given, right?

The expanded approach to category scoring eliminated ties for individual grades within each category. For example, last year, if five teams received a B+ in a category, they would all be listed as T-10. This year, they are separately ranked by the raw score underlying the letter grade. That said, it is important to focus mostly on the letter grade itself.

Finally what is point of this

quote:

What are our desired results? Educate our membership – Our goal as a union is always to bring value to our members, and getting feedback from them is a classic union tool to get a better understanding of what membership feels about certain issues. We hope this can be a resource for all players. Information will lead to action – No problem can be fixed until it is identified and acknowledged as a problem. We hope that teams will take this feedback and improve the facilities and players’ experiences, where needed.

The food situation could be explained by the fact there is so much really good food around NO. Hence whatever the saints cafe puts out cannot compare.

Unless I am overlooking something, I cannot find the actual raw score. However, based on the weights provided in the table it would appear that they would rank somewhere between 80 - 83 which is either a B- or a B.

Scores tabulated from using the lowest & highest score for each grade and multiplying by the weight provided in your provided table.

The food issue goes back a few years when the team switched vendors. the players loved the old vendor and have disliked the new one. This was talked about last year regarding this report.

Furthermore, the cafeteria is being completely overhauled this offseason. See threads about training camp moving. Hopefully that will address the issue.

These 2 things in particular do seem bass ackwards.

Wtf is this HC scale anyway? Allen ranks 29th of 32, which is probably about right, but only a B-?

There’s like 10 good HC worthy of a B or better, everyone else should be C or worse. Bottom 5 probably no higher than a D which is around where he falls.
