Given the context, he is in a group of like 6 coaches that have taken over winning teams and have ended with really bad seasons following. So yeah, he is historically bad and probably the worst hire in franchise history.

Jury is still out but he’s giving Tom Fears and Ernie Hefferle some competition.

Yes it was a very bad lazy hire. But this is what I’ve come to expect from a front office only interested in their own self preservation

If you give away your 2023 first round pick because you’re confident that your franchise QB is already on the roster. And by game 5 that QB can’t make it onto the field despite being healthy, and it looks like that 2023 pick is going to be top 5 in a year where the QB class is generally regarded as very good… how badly have you screwed up?

He’s terrible. Calls same plays time after time. Makes no changes. Same as when he was DC. Rather play prevent than be aggressive.

I truly cannot wait for this a-hole to be fired. The best part is not only will the Saints be rid of him, but he will never, ever be a head coach in the NFL again. It will be a great day of celebration.

You know management is going to give him another year, so we are probably 2025 before we can get rid of this bum and start our rebuild

Really though, until Mickey Loomis is fired, it doesn’t really matter who the coach is.

Yeah none of what I wrote can be laid 100% at DA’s feet but at sone point they asked him “can you win with Winston if we use our first on a WR?” And he said yes.
