Honestly we can be heart broken for 2 losses which I am but there is optimism to be had for the rebuilding of this team. I mean we lost breaux which likely cost us Raiders game and PJ that maybe had equal effect on this game. Add that with Rankins loss Kikaha loss and Keenan loss before year which a year ago we were depending on this guy on field, it's catastrophic losing these players yet here we were fighting.

I think targeting the ball and forcing Fleener to catch ball probably cost us the game

Have to agree. I was already set for a 6-10 rebuilding season. Despite the injuries I am pleasantly surprised with the Defense, in particular the run-d. The linebackers look great. This year every win is a gift. Next year every loss should be a nail in the coach and front offices coffin.

Agreed. And I don't like players for OSU. We don't have a good track record drafting them.

Taking into account injuries and other variables I would say if this team isn't heading in the right direction by the end of the season ,and definitely going into next season, Payton could and should be gone. This ship falls squarely on his shoulders.

Remind me of all the OSU studs the Saints have had. Maybe my oldtimers is kicking in.

So who are the players that have given Ohio St. such a bad track record?

I'm guessing he's referring to Malcolm Jenkins?

Hey Chad, thanks for that positive input. Definitely needed myself. Personally, I'm at a low ebb of support of Payton after 10 years. I'm most depressed thinking that McMahon, Vitt, and Johnson will never go. If the Payton era ends it is highly possible we would look back on that as a root cause of disappointment.

Kept watching for his feet to move and when they never did I thought the worse and that his neck was broke. Was so happy to hear everything was moving at the hospital

Difference between 6-10 and 10-6 is razor thin.

If we had Moore 1 week earlier, this is a 1-1 team.

If Fleener and Coleman weren't softer than baby diarrhea, this team is 1-1.

Just disheartening

very true. NFL is truly a game of inches. I mean here we had Crawley in ideal position that just doesn't complete the play. We haven't even gotten Ellerbe on the field. Its all a bunch of excuses in the end, L's in the record book but this team has fight in them and we are capable IMO of beating anyone. We need to not take for granted any Win and try to set this team up for a 2nd half season run.

We're gonna beat Atlanta at home on MNF

Chargers is winnable, but I wouldn't take the Saints offense on the road until they show they can play there.

Then we get the much needed bye week. Carolina plays on a short week against us too. We have a real shot at being 3-2 or 2-3. We're in it at that point, but this is a big hole to climb out of
