Dude, we can't just cut every kicker that misses a damn kick. Why the hell do they constantly do this shite? Hocker is fine.

They need to go on ahead and get Josh Lambert from West Virginia in the draft

Good kickers are not available midseason because they are sitting at home waiting for the Saints to call either.

Hocker is our best option at this point.

Instead of looking at new kickers, they ought to be looking at new special teams coaches to replace McMahon.

This.

McMahon is the common denominator here in our kicking struggles. He should've been fired years ago and the only reason he's still here is favoritism.

Obviously they all miss an easy one occasionally, but he's made a habit out of it. 3 of them in 4 games is bad, that should go without saying.

I really thought hopkins had won the job although hocker kicked really well in pre season too. I was surprised when they chose hocker though.

FWIW I did say both kickers would be kicking for NFL teams this season. LINK

Hopkins and Hocker can both kick for NFL teams this year. Wouldn't be surprised if the other gets picked up before the season starts.

So put that next to my Nick Toon cut, Bobby Richardson stater, McCown #2 QB prediction threads.

The short kicks going back to the missed extra point to tie the game after the relay play have been trouble for us.
Bring in a thousand kickers they will all nail the long one's to get the job and miss the shorts in a game. Its just in their head so what can you do. Either stick with a guy till he learns. Get a real coach who knows how to instruct young kickers or just continue the carousel.

Is Hocker going to handle KO duties as well? How far does he kick? Will he also continue as our Punter while Morestead is out?

You really do suck dude. Tooting your own horn is as pathetic as it gets. If you get shite right...don't mention it, b/c the smart people will recognize it. You also get a lot of shite wrong as well.

and good call Someone- I've wanted McMahon gone so long that I've quit hoping. The kick coverage and blocking schemes look like they're just inferior to me- have been for years. Sproles and Bush out performed the scheme IMO.

A little shout out for Hocker nailing a nice 40+ yd punt when Morstead went down.

I think it's getting a little ridiculous how we handle kickers. We've effectively shattered his confidence going forward now. No kicker we find is ever going to be 100%. shite, even viniteri missed a 20yder against the jets. Now every time he goes in, he's going to be obsessing about getting fired.

Yes, no other position gets handled with kidgloves so why should kickers right?
It's a different position in a different sport; can't even be compared to other positions.

His line for this year really isn't even that bad either, he simply missed the first game winner he's ever kicked in the NFL. At this point, we picked hocker, and we need to show a little fking support for the kid.

Or we can switch kickers another 3 times this yr and keep guys until they miss and then move on with a position in constant flux.
