It's a highlight film, so of course it looks good, but it looks like he has excellent ball skills. Looks like he may be kind of slow. Any 40 times listed for him? Also looks like he may be a little bit of a show boat. PS guy who gets a call up in a year or two?

Wasn't Sean Hicky a pretty decently rated guard? Looks like he may actually compete for a spot on the roster since we have a need there.

I do not over look any UFDA player Payton recruits as every year he finds Gems. Some of his years like the 2013 UFDA class i would take over some of that years NFL teams drafts.

I just try not to get too excited. Always seem to end up excited about picking up someone who I like then looks good in camp and then they get cut the week before the season.

New England patriot related draft site which has a very good UFDA up date list shows WR-Macolme Kennedy from Texas A%M signing with Saints. That would be 13th UFDA.Roster was at 70 pre draft plus 9 picks= 79 add 13 UFDA at 92.However as the draft picks do not sign right away esp.- the top picks i do not think they count against the camp 90 roster limit until they sign but not sure if this is true or not. update also found report on 247 site that Kennedy signed very late last night with Saints

I can get down with that for now

I actually feel it is going to b :
Peat
Armstead
Unger
Evans
Strief

by the end of the year if not sooner. It will depend on how quick Peat can be ready.

Why do people keep making assumptions we'll move our most athletic tackle "Armstead" to the guard position for Peat who isn't even proven.

Peat is a right tackle and Striefs replacement for the future.

His Combine Profile "Big and powerful with a right tackle's play strength and demeanor, but enough foot quickness to protect on the left side. Peat has the physical tools to be an upper-echelon run blocker with pass-protection ability, but he needs to improve his technique in order to protect with consistency. Peat has been well-coached and is one of the most game-ready offensive linemen in this year's draft."

In almost every scouting report it says he struggles with speed rushers. Why would you put someone who struggles with speed rushers on the left side? When you have a good young tackle there already for the future?

Yeah idk why people act like Peat is the more natural LT. To me it seems like Armstead is a natural pass blocker while Peat comes from a heavily run based offense. Unless Peat just happens to come in and blow everyone out and is great at both, I see him at RT.

To me it's almost laughable to expect Armstead to see time at G ever.

We already have someone that struggles with speed rushers. Armstead has straight away speed but not good lateral movement. He doesn't have the length to compensate either. He is much more likely to move to guard or right tackle when Strief moves on. And to correct you, Peat didn't struggle against any pass rush. He had less hurries last year than any other Tackle and was graded the best Tackle in the draft. It was said if he would have waited a year he would have been a top 3 pick on ESPN.

I like the pick of Peat as its a safe pick to go with a big man in the first round. He can play left or right an Bryce did not show much last year. However as this is a UFDA thread lets see who will be the 4th OT.Bryce Harris--Nick Becton both past year UFDA players or this years UFDA players Sean Hickey or Doniel Gambrell both liste as two of 5 UFDA gems the Saints picked up.Also Saints in the view of a top draft analyst had 2nd best UFDA class of all 32 teams.only Ravens listed above them.
