I wonder if Ben Grubbs could play center if we let Brian de la Puente walk and drafted Yankey?

David Yankey OG Stanford

I like Trent Murphy. Saw him play a few times. Dude is a baller and we do need LBs if we're going to be a true 3-4. I'm not sure he's what we want though. With how good Junior played this year and Butler coming back that position doesn't seem to be as big of a need. Maybe if he could slide over to the other LB spots.

If Murphy falls to us with that type of production, it can only mean that he is a shitty athlete. Which at that point i am not sure if we want.

If could be a similar case to the Stanford guy we brought in as an UDFA. Great production, but not athletic enough for the L. (though i suppose Murphy's size alone will land him a spot)

6' 6" and 260. If he can move at that size, I' wouldn't be disappointed if the Saints drafted him. If they move up for him, no.

Forgot who it was (maybe Mawae), but there was a HoF center that said centers can move to guard easily, but guard to center is a difficult move. They definitely have to make more reads and I'm pretty sure they typically call OL audibles.

I know but a 6'6" 260 that had 15 sacks in a major Conf should be a top 15 pick I would think. Even with average measureables

Makes sense.

I doubt you see anyone switching positions. If they can't find a good enough starting quality center in the draft they'll probably just go with another stop gap veteran in the interim. Doesn't Goodwin's deal with the 49ers expire this offseason?

I don't know, is anyone worried that the Stanford players won't be able to adjust to being around "Lsu type" guys?

Why is everyone so high on Butler. He has proved nothing. Everyone is acting like he's an All Pro. Not saying he can't be but frick. He has never started a full season before.

That's exaggerating.

He only didn't start because he was behind Ware.

The Falcons draft pick from a couple years ago is a prime example of this. Peter Konz was originally drafted to be a G but then McClure retired and they moved him to C. He's been benched for Jason Slowey since then.
