This years away game trip will be to Tampa. For those of you have gone before. Recommendations on hotels close to Raymond James? Must go places to eat? Thank you all in advance.

Oh, wife coming, the Mons is out for sure .

Try and go to Bern's if you can. One of the best restaurants in the country. Place is incredible.

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn near the Tampa Airport recently. It was pretty nice. There is also a Homewood Suites and TownePlace Suites next to it. It's about 3 miles from the stadium but I don't know how bad traffic might be for the game.

I do know that it was incredibly easy to get to the airport though. Also, there are a ton of restaurants along W Spruce/W. Boy Scout, which is right near the hotel.

Berns and Mons Venus already covered. Both are must DOs. Don't expect much atmosphere as far as tailgating is concerned aside from one or two mini grills propped UP in the bed of pickup trucks

Tampa is good stuff, I enjoyed my time there. Was my first Saints road game. Raymond James is pretty cool. Lot of golf out there too if you are interested.

Not sure how much you plan to spend, but if you plan on going to Bern's I take it you're no cheapskate. Stay here: International Mall Hotel . It's connected to the International Mall, which is the best mall in Tampa. Has an awesome food court that includes The Captial Grill, The Blue Martini, Cheesecake Factory, among others. It's also in between the airport and Ray J, approx. 5 minutes from both. We go to the mall every year because there are tons of Saints fans walking around and it's pretty cool. You won't be disappointed. Hopefully we are in contention come December. If so, you won't regret making this your away game. We take the stadium over year in and year out.
