Yeah, Humber played really really well in the preseason last year, then played sparingly in the regular season. I'd like to see him more in the rotation with Lofton. He's just got a spark to him or something.

Just watched a slew of 1 on 1 blocking drills. Will elaborate later on who beat who, but Glenn Foster, Hicks, Strief, Dawson stood out.

Mostly good battles between Strief-Jordan, Galette-Armstead, Evans-Hicks. ... Grubbs sat out drill.

Personnel notes on 1st series of team drills: WR Andy Tanner, C Jonathan Goodwin and LG Senio Kelemete ran with the 1s on offense. Not greatest sequence, though. Brees overthrew Morgan, completed short to Watson. Otherwise, Busted play; Ingram, K. Robinson runs.

Cooks working with 2s catches nice 15-yard out route. Good instincts, came back to ball got both feet down.

Team drills. No. 1 defense lines up vs no. 4 offense for snap. And galette cruises inside for what would've been easy sack (no tackling tho)

Craziest play of camp so far: Brees to FB Lorig, short left. Champ Bailey causes fumble. Before it goes out, S Rafa Bush keeps in play by reaching out + batting ball back before it went over sideline. Bailey recovered. 'Awesome' heard 3x from stands.

Pierre Warren with another pass break up
Rookie S Pierre Warren's name continues to come up.
Someone to look for.

Doesn't sound like Lorig is having a good day. Fullback is most awesome position on the field.

Seriously

Brees seems off on deep throws, but could be due to rain.

I love what I'm seeing from these tweets. Really glad Morgan looks healthy and that Brees is either hitting his deep balls or overthrowing them. Seems like they're giving both centers the opportunity to win the job. Also really glad to see the dline dominating.

Hah, yeah.

I guess that's one way to spin overthrows.

He will get the accuracy down, I have no doubt. Just glad to see his arm strength is holding up.

Tripp on Akiem Hicks. Love seeing this:

quote:

I am one of many analysts who have been touting Hicks as this year’s Galette-like breakout candidate on New Orleans’ roster. But Hicks said he can’t let himself worry about such lofty praise or expectations.

“That’s just the way it goes. They pick a guy out that they think is going to do good. But as a player, you can’t focus on that because you are never as good as they say you are and you are never as bad as they say you are,” said Hicks, who added that his No. 1 focus heading into his third season is to improve his consistency.

However, when asked how he feels about being described as “underrated,” Hicks said, “It is better than being overrated, right?”

“I’m just ready to work hard,” Hicks said. “That’s just my personality. I just want to do well. I just want to be consistent. I just want to work hard. And I want my teammates to respect me for it.”
