my heart is definitely invested in acquiring either Jack or Jaylon, difference being Jack will be an immediate impact on D. I like Rankins in many ways. I think its a fairly safe pick and it is a position of need. I'm banging on him mostly out of frustration as it seems we had an opportunity to swing big. There were a shite load of tackles in the draft all grouped very similar. I mean, the difference between Butler and Rankins can be argued all day long. The odds that we chose the best one probably aren't too great.

I stayed away last night so I'm not sure this has been said or not, but with Jack, yeah the knee is a big concern, but maybe take that risk and perhaps that knee survives up until his rookie contract is up. Then you make that decision.

3rd round or later. just like G. patience grasshopper. geez.

My concern about Jack isn't just about his knee, it's our training staff. I do not have any faith in their ability to work with him to keep his rehab up to delay the need for the microfracture surgery. I actually think if he comes here, he'll need it before his rookie year is done.

we're not drafting a OG in the second round. DWI

We can't miss on this pick. Plenty holes to fill. Spence, Dodd, Alexander, Billings, Robinson will all contribute immediately. Jack is just not worth the risk here.

CSP specifically mentioned Garnett as a prospect he liked that went at the end of the 1st.
So I think if an OG is the BPA they will take him.

One of tOSU WR in the 2nd. Mike Thomas or Braxton

15 selections before the Saints turn. A nice cloud of possibilities there...
Spence and Jack might still be there. If they are not Xed off the Saints board altogether then sure.
I'll count Billings, Alexander, Sriggs, Dodd, Ogbah, Fuller, Derrick Henry and another Alabama LB or DLgone by then.
Leaves me with a want cloud of-
Chris Jones DT MsSt- I would take even after the Rankins pick. Fairley on a one year deal.
Whitehair- prolly a favorite among posters here
Michael Thomas WR- this might be my prediction for the actual pick
Shilique Calhoun- perhaps toward the one dimensional pass rusher with questions about his strength at point of attack. I would not mind at all IF they see that one dimension being dynamic enough. I don't see much diff in him from Leonard Floyd.
Su’a Cravens- maybe another favorite here? Ideal candidate for the now on vogue SS/LB types.
Von Bell S Ohio St- I could imagine a scenario where he is the BPA
Jonathan Bullard FL- kinda a tweener DT/DE with some pass rush upside
Nassib DE- IF they think his upside is high enough, possibly, more of a project
Kyler Fackrell LB Utah St- another with outside pass rush potential

I still don't understand why ppl are so gung ho on getting another DL in the 2nd rd right now. Super deep position in this draft and with the addition of Rankins, it shouldnt be such a need that early. Guard and WR (especially Michael Thomas) should be the focus in these rounds. It is so obvious Cooks needs a larger legit threat opposite him to succeed in this offense.

Who's the end opposite Jordan?

Richardson or Edibalie (sp?). Richardson showed good play first half of season for a rookie. And then like most rookies do, tailed off second part of season.

if we are going with a 4-3, then take Spence and put him and Ke Ka Ha on the outside and Rankins and Jordan on the inside. If 3-4 then draft Whitehair. That would solve most of the o line problems. I know we need help at LB too.

So two undrafted free agents that have shown signs of maybe becoming decent players. That's why I wouldn't mind going DL again in the 2nd round.

Well, Richardson showed he can be a capable DE and showed good flashes at times. I'm hoping he can progress going into his second year. We have an all pro with Jordan on other DE spot. The reason why I want a top notch guard is b/c of the kind of interior Dline Carolina and Tampa have. We have an average at best Lelito, and a well below average Kelemente sp? We need one of the better guards or a really good T that can move to G in this draft.
I would be happy with a DE in 2nd round, I just prefer to draft someone that will play G with that pick.
