Dude basically quit the moment he signed that mega contract and got paid. Since then he's been a totally different person, a diva if you will, and he's been unreliable ever since. I notice that when some of these guys get paid like that, get these big deals that they have been after, they stop playing hard with the feeling that they've made it, so, there is no sense in killing myself anymore. That's just a figure of speech because they're not killing themselves of course, just playing a fun game really good, a child's game that they've played since they were children. Not all of them are like that though, just the ones that don't want to achieve anything anymore feeling that now that they've gotten paid that they've achieved what they wanted to achieve. The ones that are HOF players keep playing hard wanting to win superbowls and all, but a Mike Thomas isn't that type, we know that.

Sorry, didn't mean to write all of that, I know this is a word game.

He signed that 5 yr $100M extension on July 31, 2019

In the 2019 season ... 2 months after that ... he had 149 catches for 1,725 yards

yes, and hasn't done anything since then except get injuries repaired that we knew nothing about. I probably shouldn't have said right after the deal because some of y'all take that literally, but really he hasn't done anything since then.

he didn't quit because of the contract
his issue was the way the saints treated him after the injury
Thomas held a grudge after that injury and basically quit at that point knowing he was getting the guaranteed part of his contract
