Thomas out classed our boy Cam in every category at the combine. Oddly, had a lower draft grade. I don't know the difference in their college production, but Thomas is worth trading up for.

COMBINE RESULTS

Cam Jordan (Draft Grade 8.16)
6'4" 287 lbs.
Arm Length 35"

40 YARD DASH: 4.78 SEC
BENCH PRESS: 25 REPS
VERTICAL JUMP: 31.0 INCH
BROAD JUMP: 117.0 INCH
3 CONE DRILL: 7.07 SEC
20 YARD SHUTTLE: 4.37 SEC

Solomon Thomas (Draft Grade 6.85)
6'3" 273 lbs
Arm Length 33"

40 YARD DASH: 4.69 SEC
BENCH PRESS: 30 REPS
VERTICAL JUMP: 35.0 INCH
BROAD JUMP: 126.0 INCH
3 CONE DRILL: 6.95 SEC
20 YARD SHUTTLE: 4.28 SEC

you don't need to. shuttle times and digital short testing is all we need to know who is the better football player.

I'm all for Thomas. I think he is the 2nd best DE in the draft.

I'll take anyone who is 270+ and runs a 4.6. Solomon and Myles Garrett check those boxes.

at this point in time, there is no reason to trade up to get anyone, its way too early to panic and set the house on fire.

when draft day gets here and we know what happens with cooks situation and FA signings, we will have an idea what our needs still are.

then, and only then, we can decide if we are desperate enough to do something stupid like trading up.

we can get all of our needs filled with players of nearly equal value "to us" instead of any you might want to trade up to get that will still be there when we pick

why would we ever give up picks to trade up for "one guy" and then have to go home? because we aren't about to give up #11 under "almost" any situation unless it involves improving that pick in a cooks trade, so to move up to a top 5 pick, you will most likely have to give up your 2nd and 3rd picks to do it

It's not "loaded," it's very top-heavy.

Garrett
Allen
Taco
Solomon
Barnett
McDowll

6 of the top ~20 best players in the class are DT/DE according to most. One could say trading down is the best thing to do if youre targeting a DL

Just give me Derek Barnett at 11 and I'm satisfied.

Exactly. So many top targets to choose from. Stay patient and let one of them drop.

I'm not talking as if they need to make a move today, with all the trade talk going on (Titans) I'm just saying if there is a chance at the 5th pick, I'd take Thomas.

After the season, I liked the prospect of drafting Thomas more than Barnett. I had no idea Thomas's combine numbers would've been where they are, he may have moved into the top 5-8 part of the draft. Barnett is my 2nd choice, followed by Taco.

I think we can forget about Thomas. With Chicago looking like they are going to sign Glennon. I think they take Thomas with the 3rd pick. But we are 60 days away from the draft so anything can happen.

They're a couple players Chicago can go with at 3. Adams, Hooker, Allen, Lattimore. So I wouldn't say forget about Thomas!
