So I am heading to NOLA tomorrow for work and will be staying the night. I am a Falcons season ticket holder and have always wanted to go to a Saints-Falcons game in new orleans. Problem is, my friends/co-workers that live in NOLA/louisiana are not going to the game which puts me in the odd position of going by myself. Obviously this is an intense rivalry but seeing as how the Saints are on an off year, would that mean the "a-hole fan" would be more likely to be more mellow or more likely to try to cause some shite?

Would stubhub be the best avenue to get a single ticket? Are Saints fans welcoming to visiting tailgaters? Where does that normally take place? Should I just stick to sports bars before the game?

Any info would be extremely appreciated.

I'd punch you in the throat for wearing anything Atlanta in the dome.

Majority of fans are great. They will poke fun, but nothing vicious.

I suggest using NFL ticket exchange. Their tickets are directly through the Saints website, and you will be guaranteed legit tickets. Plus I'm sure you will be fine finding some for the cheap

Jut go to the ticket exchange, there are a ton of 50 yard line club seats available in the Plaza and 300's for $145-$150 a piece. That less than half face value.

I have 4 tix in sec 139 I cant even give away.

As long as you're not an a-hole you'll be fine.

Same thing when it comes to tailgaters. I've been at tailgates where we gave food to some Falcons fans.

With it being a night game there are many places you can go beforehand. Maybe get a poboy from somewhere like Killer po boys. Then you can head to walk-ons near the stadium, that'll have a crowd. Champions square too. Everything will be close by, and you'll have no trouble finding Atlanta fans .

Stubhub/ticket exchange will work just fine and you'll likely find a ticket for cheap

I am staying on Canal and Decatur. Would walking down Poydras be the normal way to the dome? Would taking a cab be smarter?

I have always found making friends with opposing fans as the smartest way to experience an away game (at least at the college level). I usually keep my falcons apparel to wearing a hat anyway

ETA: I forgot to ask, if you were going to be going to a game in the Dome and sitting by yourself where would you normally try to get a seat? Pay for a sideline lower bowl? Just pay to get in the building? Not having to pay for a ticket for my wife makes this abnormally cheaper than I am used to

You would do well by buying a club ticket. You can get great value on them right now as well. It's very tame and one of the best places to experience a game (other than home fans being too mellow and staunchy)

Most Saihts fans are cool but they do have their fair share of dickheads. Prior to 2006, the only thing I've experienced was a little good natured ribbing. All fun. Since then, I've been to a few Saints/Falcons game where guys have tried to pick fights with me. Doesn't matter where the tickets were either. I go to the game with a Falcons polo on but I don't cheer obnoxiously. I don't stand up when the Falcons have the ball. I try to be as cordial as possible.

Yeah, I use it when I can't make it to a Falcons game. Normally start dropping the price during gameday before the 1 hour cutoff hits. Granted Saints fans fill the dome more than the Falcons do, so not sure if this will backfire.

a nice chunk of season ticket holders drive in from 1-3 hours outside the city. A lot of those folks can not make it on a Thursday night to begin with much less when we are 1-4. You won't have any trouble finding good seats for cheap

As a falcons fan no one can relate to us in years of shitty embarrassing football quite like y'all...so just try to find common ground and you should be fine

That's a pretty good walk, 1-1.5 miles, so make sure you allocate enough time. You'd have to go down Magazine to Poydras, but it's not that bad and the weather should be perfect (low-mid 70s).

Cabs are a rip off downtown, I've been stuck in one trying to get out of the quarter and had to pay $10 just to turn a corner bc they constantly rev the engine to bump up the price. If anything, look for the pedicabs (guys on bikes that pull 1-2 people around downtown).

I would look for the club level. As many have said, you should find some available tickets. Plus being that you'll be by yourself, getting a good price should be easy since you can find those single seats.
