I hate him.
He's good and all.
He has a TO personality.

I'd be ok with him on the team but I imagine some team like Tampa trying to make the jump/meet the new salary floor overpays for him

He's under contract...

-$7mil '11, $7.75mil '12, which is too spendy for the Saints cap space. Even if space I wouldn't want that obligation for 32 year old receiver.

-trade price is estimated to be a 2nd or 3rd Rder. With the 2012 1st already gone that sure doesn't work

-if Lance goes I'd count Steve Smith from the Giants (UFA) as a better replacement/upgrade at age 26. He might go cheaper than normal if he starts the year on the PUP.

I don't know what to think of him. He's getting older, so his skills are definitely diminishing, but how much of his stats dropping are from shitty QB play? I could see us signing him and him putting up 1200/8TD, or something like 450/3. I'd like for him to stick with Carolina or head to the AFC, though, as opposed to going to TB, Philly, or another NFC contender.

No. Getting old and he has short man syndrome. He'd probably KO Brees the minute he gets in his face.

I remember thinking he would not be as much of a factor after breaking his leg in '04. He bounced back and then some. While he has played at a high level, he hasn't been the best teammate in the world either.

I'm a firm believer that Brees (along with Manning and Brady) have the leadership to set a mother fricker straight. Think of Shockey with Eli. How many times did you see Shockey freak the frick out with Brees ? He did it during one game midseason 2008, Brees set his arse straight, and he was quiet from then on, on the way to a 8-8 or 7-9 record, whatever it was. Brees wouldn't deal with Smith's shite, and neither would Payton. I'm sure he wants a ring before he retires, and he doesn't want to get it while riding the bench because of turdiness.

ya really think they have room for $14.75mil the next two years and can give up a 2nd or 3rd Rder for him?

Hard to see a cap conducive restructure for a WR already 32.

90% chance he gets cut. And I don't think we should go after him regardless. I really think that, beyond Brees obviously, we need to focus on keeping Nicks and our CBs. Give Brees time, he'll make a trio of Bumfrick McGee's 800 yard/5TD each. Just talking hypothetically, I think he could fit in well.

forget about here then

I think they'll keep him if they don't get at least a 3rd or 4th rder. Some desperate for WR wanna be contending team with cap room would do it. Redskins? Ravens? He's expressed interest in SD & NE

Well only way he leaves panthers besides being cut is trade and I doubt he will be traded in division.

No. We don't need any big name wide receivers, because Drew has proved he can make a superstar out of anyone.
