All I can say is there must be a plan in place and if needed I think drew will step up . Manning will wish he retired after last season when the Broncos suck next year.

You mean the $60 million dollar contract the Saints gave him when nobody else would sign him? I love Brees and yes, once the Saints won the Superbowl then having him for $10mm a year was "cheap", but lets not act like he was having a rough go at it. He definitely needed to get paid and I don't blame him for it. But the whole "TEAM is first and I love winning" attitude should be accompanied by a willingness to restructure or extend to help the TEAM win. You think if Brees took a pay cut like Manning of $4mm and "only" made $22mm that it would hurt him financially or set back the PA? But that $4mm could help to keep a PT or sign someone else we need.

Running backs are a dime a dozen. Love the guy but lets not act like the saints "couldnt afford him". The league spits out 30 year old running backs. Plenty of younger quality replacements in the draft.
As for brees, I dont give 2 shits about the circumstances. We got elite QB play for 6 years for dirt cheap. 10 million per couldnt buy you and dalton or jay cutler now lol

Brees is a washed up interception machine. I know everyone has the K-DOG 3WL man crush on Brees, but this is a business and winning makes money.. The Saints are wasting time and money on a dwindling quarterback with a weakening arm. While they have spent no time looking for or investing in the futer. As for taking a cut I don't think he should, the Saints offered him this deal. Why should he give it up? Loomis is the problem, and banked on the last three years to get another title, not looking twords the futer.. Be prepared for 3 to 5 years of 8-8 at best..
