If Benson dies or cedes control, Sean has a line item in his contract that he can void the deal.

Granted we have known this for awhile. It was built in his contract to protect himself from Rita if she retained ownership of the saints. Obviously Gayle will get the Saints now, so it's really supposed to be a non-issue. However, he could be seriously tempted to leave, if Jerry Jones decides he wants him.

Again, nothing happen as long as Benson has control, and there's no way he'd let Sean walk without compensation. Question is should ownership make a gamble that he'd stay?

Jerry Jones might give the saints quite a bit to get him. Colts, Dolphins or Lions might do it also.

Sean and Mickey have made countless bad decisions about this team in their quest for another championship. Browner and Byrd being the latest. I'd be happy with Ireland taking control for Loomis. Sean can stay, but Ireland has to take control of the front office and take personnel decisions away from Sean.

Because JerrAh is an egotistical person with a win now mentality. If he has an opportunity to get Payton, Garrett wouldn't even have a chance to clean out his office.

Jerry is 73. Benson is 88.

Truth is, I don't really see Payton or Loomis staying around for long after Benson eventually passes, when they will have to answer to a new owner and be accountable for decisions, and they presumably won't be given a blank slate and allowed to do whatever they want, with no consequences. But to leave before then? They'd be crazy to give up what they have here, highest paid coach in the NFL, Loomis elbows deep in two franchises, to go somewhere with a less stable environment and more pressure and more accountability for bad decisions.

Do you really feel like Loomis or Payton are on the hotseat, or have ever been, since the Super Bowl year?

I haven't seen any evidence anywhere that Jerry Jones and Payton are especially tight or friendly, in fact quite the opposite seems to be true.

Jerry Jones is not Sauron. Just because he wants something, doesn't mean he always gets it. In fact, that's half the charm of Jerrah, is that he desires so much but never really ever gets what he wants; or if he does get what he wants it blows up in his face somehow.

I don't think there's any real temptation for Payton to leave, at least not right now.
