Do you promote Jeff Ireland to full GM?

Could happen, but I suppose Loomis would still be working within the organization at some other position.

Names that come to mind:
Adam Gase
Sean McDermott
Josh McDaniels (not a big fan of this)
Wade Phillips

Anybody we would want isn't coming here, not with the front office situation. Owners sick, and the GM couldn't run a Pop Warner draft.

What does this have to do with anything?

Our gm gives the head coach full reign over the team. Who wouldn't want that?

in a hartbeat,baugh

The 9ers firing him was one of the biggest GM frickups I've seen in the NFL. If I could point to one coach in the NFL in the last 10 years that brought the best out of every player on his team it is Harbaugh. By the end of the year they will wish they were on the other side of the Bay in Oakland.

That's my point. It's the GM's job, not the HC.

How has Peyton running the draft worked out?

If Loomis just want's to be a bean counter, then go find an Asst GM position as a bean counter.

This is a tough call. I want a no nonsense task master that will hold the lower coaches responsible and whip the players into shape. And I'd really like to shift to a defensive minded guy. I also want a dedicated offensive and defensive coordinator and the head coach not calling plays on either side of the field.

Let me know when you find this unicorn.

I would trade him to the colts or Texans or miamia. I would try to hire a Josh mcdanials,Kyle Shannonhan, tom cable ,or Wade philliaps.

Anyone suggesting that Loomis is going anywhere is kidding themselves. Not that I think it's the right move for the organization, but with the act of giving him management of the Pelicans I don't think you can find a single person who trusts Mickey Loomis more than Tom Benson does.

No doubt. Happy he found his way home, most people would kill for a chance to go back to their alma mater and resurrect their program into a powerhouse. I have no doubt he will do and is doing just that.

After seeing how dysfunctional the NFL can be, why would you ever want to go back?

You don't think there's a chance Payton is gone eventually? It's clear things have become stale for him here. I mean, we probably should've known things wouldn't turn out too well this year when the training camp reports started to sound the same.

This must be the worst list I've ever seen. This is actually who you want?

mora is interesting. he has the family ties plus i feel he has done sort of a bizarro saban and improved as a coach going to the college level and would do better in his next nfl job. i also think we should go defense, JMHO

maybe pittsburgh runs omar epps off if they dont make the playoffs. teryl austin would probably get an interview

eta- tbh i hope payton stays another couple years until the window officially shuts. trouble is i think the relaysh between him and the front office (not to mention within the FO) is just too far gone at this point

I mean that looks like a falcon's wish list for the Saints next head coach.
