From what I've read it sounds like security has given up - it's sorta like prohibition - everyone up there smokes are doesn't give a frick so what are the cops going to do? Give you a call to come whip the sections arse?

frick the smokers and their fricking tradition. It's against policy and statutory law, and they were flaunting it. I absolutely guarantee you I would have seen to it that it was taken care of. You just need to find the right person in charge and be persistent. As far as threats, frick 'em.

P.S. I don't have anything against smokers.

Considering that these people are by and large smokers and the entire section is OK with it, except for you....

Why don't you read half those links which state that the data is inconclusive.

Exactly my point. Half the data suggests there is a connection and the other half is "inconclusive". Not negative, not stating that it DOES NOT cause cancer, not saying that it's impossible. They say it's inconclusive. Which is another way of saying that it's just as probable that SHS does cause cancer as not, but that they cannot draw a conclusion from the data at hand. Because somehow, it's in their best interest to declare the study, inconclusive.

Secondly, do you contest the point that smoking causes cancer? I'm talking about linking regular smokers to cancer.

Wow, you are a genius. How about this. In da hood, a high percentage of people do or sell drugs. Everyone in da hood expects it and doesn't care. I think we should just turn a blind eye and let them do as they please since none of the residents seem to have a problem with it.

I'd cheer for my team instead of bitching about being uncomfortable.
When I go and tell the usher I can't fit in my seat because two whales are on either side he just shrugs his shoulders. frick it. Just watch the game and remember not to sit in that section again.

Once again your complete ignorance of the facts shines forth. Smoking is NOT ALLOWED in the Superdome, period.

People in the upper seats feel they can get away with it, which they can, until someone complains. A smoking area is provided OUTSIDE the Superdome.

My seats are in 646 and I've had them for the last four years, I haven't ever seen this but don't doubt it at all. Make a fuss and run their asses off next game.

I'll be looking for it too.

Yes, smoking in a nosebleed section in the dome is exactly like criminality in low income neighborhoods. And since I feel as I do about the dome situation I must feel the same about a crime in general.

You = fail when trying to analogize.

He's on our side, Sid. He doesn't want frickers to smoke in the Dome either.

Look man, anal-agize dudes on your own time. Let's stick to the argument at hand.

And my analogy is completely applicable. Smoking in the Dome is against the law AND the rules of the Dome. The penalty (if enforced) is much the same to selling weed on the corner. If we turn a blind eye to one, we might as well turn a blind eye to both.

You will not win this argument. Your position is illegal and against Dome policy. You lose.

If your data cannot show a link then you cannot link second hand smoke to cancer. You can't simply suggest that it does, perform a study that doesn't prove that it does and then continue to walk around saying it "could". What's your basis - you're religious belief that it does?

No, the data is "conclusive" meaning it is proven. That's how it works.

Go look at a healthy lung compared to one that's been exposed to second hand smoke for awhile. Cancer or not, I'd rather the healthy lung.

Plus, you CAN link second hand smoke to other health issues...

Healthy Lung is the way to go.

My seats are in the isle between 645 and 646, I haven't seen this before. I'll be watching for it.

It is??? You will be arrested, fined, face jail time???

Drug dealing, murder = smoking in a non-smoking area? Holy frick, I didn't realize they were the same. I think I'll go up there next time with Jaydeaux and maybe bring a gun so I can stop a the capital crime of smoking in a non-smoking area next time.

Not my argument - it is against the dome rules. However, I'm suggesting that to go up there and get all bent out of shape is ridiculous, because guess what - you're going to lose. The only way to change that is to get you, Jaydeaux and all of your buddies to buy the tickets in that section and completely move the W/T smoking crowd out. Come to think of it OPR its akin to gentrification of low income neighborhoods. Just buy up all the areas where the smokers are - displace them. Damn, you were on to something with your initial "anal-ogy" (that was really clever, man).
