Cam seemed to play best last year when he was moved inside. He mostly played DT when he had 3 sacks against Atlanta. Pairing him with Fairley would give us consistent pressure from the inside. Davidson, Jenkins, and Richardson are solid backups so we wouldn't have to draft another DT. Draft a real DE at 12 (Dodd, Lawson, or Spence) and we finally have a decent dline.

He does and will continue to do so at times in passing situations.

A permanent move might make sense if we draft Lawson.

Moving guys around for in game matchups is 100% different than the change you suggest.
Cam is our best edge rusher. Period. You don't change that without a lot of depth and proven/willing inside play by your #1 guy.
We are Gilligan thin at DE. One would need to be very careful in changing what we have good there.

Jordan was most effective playing on the inside. His size makes him ineffective rushing from the edge. Hell, he's heavier than Aaron Donald. Putting him at DT and drafting a faster, more athletic DE would give us a much better dline.

Your basing this off 1 game against one of the worst interior OL's in the NFL.

The "Express" style package is an effective in game sub but to make a permanent position change to a ProBowl DE would be a bit drastic and potentially shortsighted.

Also we would still need to draft at least 2 DE's pretty early even if the switch was successful. Kikaha is no sure thing DE either.

Well we also don't have enough good starters to leave the 4 best players off the field. Jordan has value in his versatility.

But no way you make him a permanent DT. I think Denver showed the value of having as many pass rushers as possible

They made Hicks lose 30lbs, put him at DE instead of DT, and traded him after about 3 weeks. Let's leave Jordan be
