Serious question: How's everyone handling it?

I'm in Dallas. I wore a Saints cap and sweatshirt, today. Proud of my team.
I was at Home Depot, in the construction area, and a big guy, about 6-2, 240ish and obviously a gym rat, comes down the aisle sporting a Saints cap. We both said hi, and I asked him how he was handling it. He said, "How do I REALLY feel?" He reached into a box on the shelf and pulled out an 18" piece of 3/8" rebar.
He stood there, rebar in one hand and patting his other hand with the rebar, and looked at me and said, "I want to take this and bash the fricking life out of those officials' heads. I want to take three more of these and drive Roger Goodell's hands and feet to the ground, then set him on fire and watch him burn. THAT'S how I REALLY feel."
Then he asked me, "How about you? How do you feel?" I replied, "Bitter and disillusioned."
He replied, "Bitter and disillusioned? I'm WAAAAY past bitter and disillusioned. My blood is boiling like it never has. It's just a damn good thing for those refs and Goodell that I'm civilized and have a family to support."
Then he slid the rebar back in the shelf, said to take it easy, and started back down the aisle, only now he was whistling some tune to himself.
Dude was seriously creepy and obviously not dealing with it well. He needs to get off the steroids, that's for sure. Hope everyone here on TD is okay. I'm seriously bummed and mad, but not homicidal!

Not well. Been hard to get any work done today. I gave up around 2. Just sick to my stomach.

I'm repping the saints today, but I hate the world

Not trying to be a dick. It sucks but if anyone is letting yesterday still bother them, they need to re-evaluate some things.
The guy you met in Home Depot is pathetically. I’m sorry. He sounds like a complete loser.

Im pretty numb. It doesn’t hurt as bad as last night, but I dont think ill ever truly get over it. The 30minutes after the game winner by the Rams was about as depressed as ive ever been. Even worse than the Diggs catch last year. It hurts more when it’s out of your control.

It sux arse...but it’s still a game. I used the day off to hang out and play with my four healthy children and that’s what is really important.

Wearing my coaches polo and cap. Haven’t taken the flags down off my car yet. Maybe tomorrow or Wednesday.
I’m as proud of them as I was yesterday or the day before. They didn’t lose that game...they got hijacked.

I'm sure I look ok on the outside, but on the inside I'm struggling to grasp that we aren't in the SB in two weeks.

Thing is, you are not from here or live here and could not give two shits about the Saints.

I'll be honest.
Not well.
Don't think I will every truly get over it.
Part of my Saints fandom died last night. I will never be as invested in Saints football as I was this year.

Pissed of course. I'll personally get over it in a couple days. At an earlier point in my life, this may have eaten at me pretty much all of the offseason and probably most of next season.

I'm not homicidal now, but I was about as close as I'd ever been over any sporting event on Sunday. We'll get over it, but it won't be easy. It's insane to think of all the shite that has happened to the saints in just the last ten years. This, Minneapolis, Bountygate, and shite if we just move that to the last 20 years I could go on for days

I'm over it. I was curious to see the reaction of the talking heads. Most are saying that the call was bad, but so were other plays (facemask), but that Drew, Payton, and the Saints blew it. In short...they want to remain employed imho. Now that I've confirmed in my mind what I thought would be the case, I can flush that game from my memory as best as possible.

Terrible. I waffle back and forth through all of the stages of grief, although I think I'm finally done with the denial stage for good.
This shite happened. The worst part IMO is the irreparable damage done to Drew Brees' legacy. Regardless of what may transpire in the next 2-3 years, he should have gone to this Superbowl. He's got one ring, and this was his year to go all out for #2.
Even if we end up in the big game next year, this was still a missed opportunity and it is never coming back.

Oh, so because I don’t live in the city, I don’t care? Should we all just put life on hold? It’s a game. Does it suck? Absolutely but to let it bother you for a prolonged period is a little weird.
Also, the guy who started this thread is from Dallas but I guess since his depression fits your agenda, it’s ok to not be from the city. GTFO.

Feels like the emotions you experience when burying a close friend who died way to young. Lots of disbelief on a call that was so blatantly obvious.

I like this guy’s style.
I do feel physically sick - a cabal of soulless number crunchers stole what should have been an amazing celebration from a city that loves its team and gave it to the fakest city on the planet, where there’s no such thing as loyalty.
Saints fans will stick around regardless of winning. Not in LA.

I’m sorry but if yesterday doesn’t bother you at all, then you just don’t care. You’re not even a fan.
