Sean Payton's coaching is very lackluster

Mainly play calling to be specific. That was a typical dumb Payton move. Over a minute left and instead of just pushing down the field like we did the whole drive, they take forever in the huddle and then throw to the end zone like its our last hope. Go for the first down and take your time scoring and leave them with no time. No need to try and take it all in one play.

He's not a good coach. Or hasn't been for the last few years.

Totally agree. I'm ready for this team to move on from him. Obvious he will never let go of Vitt or McMahon, and he has way too much power in personnel decisions that have been a disaster. team needs to be rebuilt, and there's no basis to trust him to handle it properly at this point in his career. Best coach Saints have ever had when he was at his peak. Now, not so damn much.

Exactly and the play was a totally unnecessary risk at that time

He had a phenomenal gameplan today

He deserves criticism for the year, but not today

This was his best game in a while, I've got no complaints on him today

I agree about the rest of the game. It was a good gameplan and was executed well but that one brainfart ruined what would've been an amazing win against the Panthers with our backup QB

The o scored 18 points. Sadly, that is a phenomenal game plan for him these days. McCown was delivering it, and he for some ungodly reason chose a r yd pitch back on a critical 3rd and 4, and that play which ended with the int in the end zone was just dumb.

It shouldn't have been a jump ball. He was beat but the ball was underthrown

I like Cooks but you wouldn't make a living betting on him in the corner of the end zone. Too much time left with two timeouts to make that gamble. we were having plenty of success on the short underneath routes on that drive even with the drops. He got greedy and it bit him in the arse

not a bad ball control game plan..however, overall the league has caught up to the Saints' tendencies..

This was easily Payton's best gameplan in quite some time. We were in the game on the road against a playoff team with a journeyman backup qb. McCown was well-prepared and played way above anyone's expectations. It was just a tough break at the end on a ball that was a little underthrown. The DB made a hell of a play on it.

Coleman sucks going high for balls and Colston sucks at the whole catching aspect

Can't believe this is gettin so many down votes. Payton coaches like he has a ring so he doesn't give a frick anymore. Some of the play calling and personnel moves have been abysmal. Handing it off to Robinson on 3rd and 4 when mccown has been completing 5 and 6 yard passes the entire game: and that last throw to the endzone should accentuate the point for you. There was no reason to go for that homerun with 3 timeouts. Payton and Ryan both need to go.
