I dont understand what makes New Orleans above trying to break a noise record. Its like some of you naysayers think that doing this will some how reflect badly on us.

It's lame but will get the crowd up. It will be broken by 15+ DB

Goodell will tamper with the sound level meter to ensure we won't.

If it gets the crowd going for the biggest game of the season then so be it. This is a must win and bitch Newton has to be destroyed.

I hope they announce over and over it will be on a 3rd down play…then on the biggest 3rd down of the game

as soon as the 2nd down play is over with…announce we're going for the record….then make it happen

Do they really announce it in the stadium? Did they do that in Seattle / KC / Clemson.. all the other places that have broken these?

I think this is a trend that is going to stick around as teams are competing with tvs. It is a way of asking for fan interaction, if it helps the team in any way, I'm all for it. I think LSU should try next season.

Bc the crowd was going to be quiet for a Sunday night game that may decide the division?

No jackass, but the added notion that they are trying to set a record will make them even louder. It's common sense.
