Now that the Charger's are a shoe in for Super Bowl favorites with the Mettenberger signing, it's only logical we tried and sign someone from them for some competitive advantage

Siants signed WR Vincent Brown. Brown continues to hang around and earned the contract after a workout, which also included Hakeem Nicks, for the Saints last week. Brown, 27, has caught 13 balls across eight games the past two seasons. The Saints were looking for a veteran mentor at receiver after releasing Marques Colston. Brown is an extreme long shot to make much of an impact if he makes the team.

Then.. why didn't we just keep Colston? you know, as a veteran mentor ....

Some are not mentors nor wish to be.
People keep saying get this QB or that guy and let Drew teach/mentor him but Drew ain't the one to do it and he has said as much.
Some guys are not going to help any one to replace them and I suspect some don't want to be around football once their better days have passed.

Damn. I read this as Vincent Jackson...Anyways, this kid can't stay healthy. So we have zero to expect and zero to lose.
