Because...Madden.

In all seriousness, they should just start picking up potential talent outside of a Ryan's buffet. More likely to succeed than some Jaguars and Raiders castoff. Are the Saints the new team where players go to die their NFL deaths again? Ok, maybe not "all seriousness", I would rate that as somewhat serious.

So we have a thread yesterday where posters were suggesting that we should bring in as many guards as possible to try to replace the current shite we have now. Now the Saints bring someone in, and the FO sucks and is a joke?

Yep. I actually think the FO has done a pretty good job the last 2 years. We're still trying to dig ourselves out of a hole that we created due to bad FA signings & bad drafts in the past. Our talent should be replenished by 2017 if we stay the course. Hopefully Brees is still going strong by then.

Still annoyed that we haven't drafted a guard or signed one via FA the last 2 years, but that's really my only complaint.

The last two years three of our biggest free agent signings have been browner, spiller, and fleener. One is a horrible signing. Really one of the very worst. The other may end up working out, but doesn't look good so far. The last is completely unknown, but I'm not optimistic about it. Imo the amount of money spent on the position when we have greater needs is a pretty big head scratcher.

I'm pretty close to completely losing faith in the personnel acquisition of the Saints' front office. They have been on a really bad streak the last 5 years.

Yea, last years FA signings were kind of shitty. I liked this years a lot. I'll form an opinion of Fleener after a few regular season games & Spiller looks like he's healthy this year. I give the FO an A+ on solidifying our LB core this year & they did it with only spending like 4 mil a year.

The drafts have also sucked. The last 2 years it is obviously too early to call, but last year's is already looking bad. I'm usually an optimist, but it is getting hard for even me to spin it at this point. The shite keeps accumulating. The 3 years before that don't get much worse.

LB? Maybe not horrible, but I'm not putting too much faith in that either. Hopefully they can improve from God awful to meh. The secondary looks like it might eventually be alright. But they are inexperienced, and they are limited for as long as the defensive line shows little signs of being able to generate pressure.
