what?

Landry had more yards and touchdowns in 1 less season, how is that arguably better? Why do people spew bullshite?

jarvis landry

137 rec 1809 yards 13.2 ypc 15 tds

0 rushing

travin dural

100 rec 1716 yards 17.2 ypc 13 tds
14 rushes 122 yards

thats pretty comparable and the fact that dural played with way worse qb says alot.

We played against good defenses in the SEC. We played some good OOC games and bowls.

Those numbers (YPC and his runs) just don't look like a slow WR.

Dural was the best receiver on the team before his injury, he is far better than dupre who got drafted by Green Bay. I think the saints got a solid pickup with dural.

Questions about his 40 time are unfair. His tape shows that he is a proven deep threat, and imo he should easily make the team.

His 20, 40 and 60 yard times are all prertt pedestrian, especially for a supposed straight line deep threat. Isn't overly tall and not a great leaper. Just not much to hang his hat on in the eyes of GMs

That said I'm glad we got him, he's a good football player. I can almost see him changing his game and working more short, intermediate routes. He's played with some bad QBs. Brees could make his a decent WR

Yeah, he has been timed in the 4.3 range before. Dural is a track guy. For some reason (maybe that injury at Ole Miss in 2015), he has been the same since. It could be lost burst or could return.

Dural is a damn good receiver. Anyone who is trying to slam this kid obviously doesn't pay much attention. He was constantly behind the defense. The only thing that stopped him from being great at LSU was being constantly missed or overthrown. He will stretch the field nicely for us.

Forget the LSU angle, Dural is an interesting project.

Apparently he injured his hamstring in 2015. Prior to that, he was the second coming of Devery Henderson (consistently catching deep balls).

Forget that Henderson was LSU too,

Brees and Payton used Henderson as well as anyone in the NFL used a deep threat. If Dural can return to that, we have a steal- you replace Cooks with a legit deep threat, and he isn't a 1st rd pick demanding you change the offense to accommodate him.

Sports today crew just nailed it...hasn't been the same since his injury. He was a burner before the injury. Doesn't look good for him that he ran almost a 4.6 at the combine for a "speedster"

After thinking about it awhile, I think Dural a lock to stay with the Saints this upcoming season. Practice squad definitely, possible roster.

I don't think he's cut early, nor do I think he's going to sign on another PS roster.

Not being an LSU homer, just looking at Saints past history and moves.

Dural's history, potential and past ability makes him a perfect fit for the Devery Henderson role, if he can get back to it.
It's not just that Dural has that potential, but that the Saints have shown they can maximize that role. Dural has lots of Henderson clips that show him- if you can do ___, then Brees will target you, and he's used to looking at that spot on the field.

My bet is that he will get the Brandon Coleman treatment (Coleman replacing Colston); you get a year of PS guaranteed, if you have anything at all. We will hold the spot in the playbook, and if you get back to around 4.4 and consistently catch the deep bombs you used to, you're on the field by 2018. Now go to work rehabbing the leg.

I can see the Saints making that pitch, and I can see Dural not signing with another PS, because the Saints would be an established fit, instead of just competing for a roster spot.
If he can't get his speed back, he's not an NFL guy anywhere. He's not a possession guy.

Does Akiem Hicks and Delvin Breaux count for being one time LSU commits?
