Do we keep 6, 7, or 8 to start the season?

What's the depth chart look like?

Will : Casillas / Shanle

Middle: Lofton / Humber / Rudd / Lawrence Wilson

Sam : Hawthorne /Herring / Ezra Butler

I know Humber is out first three games and Lawrence Wilson out the first game. Do we keep Rudd after week one? What about after week 3, when Humber comes back? Anybody have an opinion on Butler? Gimme yalls thoughts

Just a guess obviously but

Week one LBs: Lofton, Hawthorne, Casillas, Shanle, Herring, Rudd, and Butler.

Week 2: release Butler, and Lawrence Wilson comes back on.

Week 4: when Humber comes back aboard we release either Rudd or Lawrence Wilson and have our season 7 of

1.)Lofton
2.)Casillas
3.)Hawthorne
4.)Humber
5.)Shanle
6.)Herring
7.)Rudd or Lawrence Wilson

What yall think?

I was looking for s guy to fill that last spot while Humber and Wilson was suspended.

Butler I think was a draft pick out of Nevada a couple years ago.

You are right though, I forgot about #46. He was active in the Houston game. Think he had a sack and made another play. Anybody know if he is practice squad eligible? He can be the week one guy until we get Wilson back. Or maybe he beats out Wilson and Lawrence is gone on the last cuts and they cut either #46 or Rudd when Humber gets back . Imagine a fresh Vilma coming in at week 8 for the stretch if they get his suspension cut.

IF Vilma gets some time back, would we keep him? And would he be able to play Sam or Will?

Well I guess it is a matter of opinion, but I thought he played real well. He played for us for 3 or 4 seasons, and I thought he got better each year. It takes some a guys a few years to get the game, but he played well as he got more experience. In 2011, he played mlb, first time since college and had 80 tackles, a sack, two forced fumbles, and 6 passes defended. He would be our best back up at MLB right now and I would feel real comfortable with him at mlb for the first two games, if Lofton isn't fully healthy. He could also battle Shanle and Herring for the other olb spot opposite Casillas, until Hawthorne is healthy. Hopefully Lofton is back fully healthy week one and I expect it. But I don't want to rush Lofton or Hawthorne back. I do expect Hawthorne ( who I believe had surgery to repair a Meniscus tear in his knee) to miss a few games. I expect Shanle and Herring to play his spot to he gets back. Sucks Chamberlain is lost for the season and Dunbar is gone, but it is what is and its done. Hopefully Dunbar does alright in St. Louis and we will be just fine.
