Robert Meachem isn’t done playing football.
The former Saints receiver is looking to make a comeback and is scheduled to work out for New Orleans on Friday, according to a source.
The 31-year-old was out of football last season. In 2014, he appeared in 11 games and caught seven passes for 114 yards.
A former 2007 first-round pick, Meachem spent the first four years of his career with the Saints before signing with the San Diego Chargers. He was released after one season and re-signed with the Saints in 2013.
The Saints could be in the market to add depth at the receiver position. The team has Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead and Brandon Coleman at the top of the depth chart, but there is no proven depth behind those players.

Not the vet WR I had the Saints 100% getting in FA's LOL.
I bet the goat farm that they would get a veteran WR just to teach and partially replace Colston.
They either love who they have now on the depth chart or are looking at a steal pick in the draft.

I hope they dusted off the sun dial so they can time Meachem in the 40.

No hands whatsoever, cathes EVERYTHING with his chest. What exactly do you want him teaching?

Jesus, he's awful. This has to be a pity tryout.

He's going to be our savior at WR.

Nothing wrong with a depth signing for the vet minimum.
At the very worst, he's good camp body.

To the best, and up at the top there’s a name that won’t surprise many Bears fans but may surprise many others. Earl Bennett, with just four drops from 127 catchable balls, has the lowest drop percentage of just 3.15%. That wasn’t much better than the ever-excellent Larry Fitzgerald who continues to show remarkable consistency with his hands, dropping an average of three balls each season and just 3.27% of catchable balls. Behind him are less-heralded players like Kevin Walter and Lance Moore, while San Diego fans will be happy to see Malcom Floyd with the fifth-lowest drop percentage, and new signing Robert Meachem down in 11th.

We’re going to start off by looking at the wide receivers whose primary job is to catch the ball and make plays. So let’s see which wideouts have done the best (and worst) job in this regard over the 2009, 2010, and 2011 seasons.
Looks like he did a pretty damn good job catching the ball for us in his prime.
You're brilliant when it comes to WRs, well at least when you remove all stats and empirical evidence from the conversation.
*note: since you struggle with reading comprehension from time to time, I hope we don't sign him. Doesn't mean your argument isn't idiotic.

Meachem is at 80 percent (54 targets and 43 receptions). That puts him slightly ahead of Jacksonville’s Mike Thomas (79 percent) and New England’s Wes Welker (78 percent). Meachem is the only NFC South receiver in the top 10, provided by ESPN Stats & Information. One other impressive stat about Meachem is that he leads the league in yards per target, including only receivers that have been targeted at least 50 times. Meachem is averaging 13.14 yards per target, almost two full yards ahead of Hakeem Nicks, who ranks second. New Orleans’ Marques Colston also ranks 10th on the list, averaging 10.29 yards per target.
