Great hire by you guys. I wish he would've got the head coaching gig for Washington. The players respected the hell out of him. You guys are definitely going to take a secondary player in the 1st round now in my opinion. GW loved his safeties.

Sounds like this signing came in the nic of time seeing as the Lions decided to go with Schwartz as their new coach.

I believe this is a good move. I know his JAX could have been better, but I will give him the benefit for now.

I think it is a very good hire for you guys. He did wonders for our defense when he was at Washington.....I hated to see him go.

This hire fricking sucks. he's overrated and no one really wants him here. The saints should have went after someone with a little more experience. Besides, it was the offense's fault for most of the losses the last couple of years.

dude, get your head out of your arse. more experience? In five of the past nine seasons, when he has coached three different teams, his units have finished in the top 10.
New Orleans can’t claim that. In fact, only once since 1999 has New Orleans finished in the top 10, coming in at No. 8 in 2000.

In three seasons as head coach of Buffalo, the Bills’ defense went from 21st to 15th to 2nd. From 2006 to 2007, the Saints defense went from 11th to 26th, though there was minor improvement in 2008, with the unit moving up to 23rd.

how much more experience do you want? he is highly respected in the NFL as one of the best defensive minds out there and he is aggressive.

you are right, it was not the offense's fault. it was the TEAM'S fault for the losses. we could not close out a game. with the exception of the first carolina and atlanta game, in which we were blown out by halftime, the saints were in every other game with the lead or a chance to take the lead in the end and could not close it out. that is the reason we lost. don't even think about just blaming the defense.

do your research before making such an idiotic statement, numbnuts

these guys are professionals. 3 years is plenty enough time to implement a defense

fwiw, I'm just getting it out of the way. I'm sure there will be morons later on disagreeing with the hire.
