Saints will think this signing is good enough to patch the nickel and overlook a massive hole just like they do every year. They always sign a player they think will be average enough to hold it up and it always ends up being one of the biggest holes on the team. It was C for years, OLB, and last year Corey White. We have a Corey White this year? If our 2nd rounder from last year can't do anything he's officially a bust.

We should sign Revis to hold down the slot, Suh to hold down the interior of Dline, and when Brees retires get Aaron Rodgers. I'm tired of this mediocrity crap also

Eta: Frick it, sign Rodgers now to develop under Brees or maybe Brees to develop under Rodgers?

No, its not. 2014 is clearly an anomaly. However, with Lewis and Browner on the outside, his slot coverage will have to be more of the 2010-2013 stats. At worst, he'll push the young guys to perform better and maybe he'll play well in the slot.

Well, I wouldn't expect much. Clearly, Stanley wasn't brought in to cover slot. He's a big, long, outside guy . The good news is that there are two pretty good guys on the outside, so unless they go down to injury, I wouldn't expect to see SJB on the field.

He was only targeted 40x last year. Gave up 1 TD.

He played really well after week 8.

Brian Dixon is gonna pull up to camp on his scooter and put him in his place. Dixon's gonna beat him out.

Dixon didn't play the slot much last season. He should be more concerned with Delvin Breaux and Travis Frederick. I think there is a place on the team for Wilson and Dixon.

My initial reaction to the Jahri Evans news is that it's a good move for the Saints and a sign that they'll keep him on the line. With Max Unger, arguably one of the top centers in all of football, now anchoring the offensive line and Jahri Evans being...well, hopefully healthy enough not to get in his own way for the foreseeable future, the Saints can really solidify their line with a guard in the high rounds of the draft.

Now, they also could have changed his cap numbers to make his contract more attractive to other teams, too.

I think the draft will be very interesting for the Saints this year. I can't wait.

Good point. But I tend to think he'll be here. They can't blow up the entire interior OLine. They'll have two new pieces, hopefully upgrades. If you try to replace too many, the chances of upgrades being actual downgrades go up. Unger and a competition between Lelito and a drafted OL should be ok. If you try to replace Evans, as well as the other Guard, I think they are rolling dice.

It also makes me wonder if they are truly going to go interior line with the top pick...

was Wilson asked to go outside much w/ NYJ? if so, then that's not much of an issue here b/c we know it'll be Keenan & Browner on the outside w/ Wilson or Breaux or Dixon or Frederick or whoever taking the slot

good competition for the #3 CB spot

now we need to see what Jahri's extension did... esp. what money was changed to bonuses that will no longer impact our salary cap

Call me nutso, but I didn't hate the work Terrance Frederick put in at the end of the year last year.
