was stated on the radio before the game that he is fighting prostrate cancer.

Met him last year for the first time and he seemed like a great guy trying to help younger kids. Didn't know home before that

Wish him the best.

That sucks but prostate cancer is one than can be beaten if it's caught early enough.

Get well soon Rickey Jackson.

I'm really sorry to hear that and I hope he wins this fight.

I remember a story about Rickey right after he got hurt and had to wear that massive face mask. He supposedly got mad at Mora in practice, got in his Corvette, and drove like a maniac up and down the street in front of the practice facility to freak Mora out.

I met him once and he seemed like a normal, approachable guy.

I'm not familiar with your Saints Drive story, but it sounds like something Rickey might do.

He destroyed his neighbor's Corvette on Airline Hwy on, IIRC, a Tuesday night. He hit a small pick-up (Ford Ranger, I think) that was turning in front of him, broadside. It a miracle he wasn't killed. He had surgery to put a plate in his cheekbone. Missed the game on Sunday, but played the following week.

That guy is tough as a $2 steak. He was the one of the best things about the Saints for years. I hope he has a quick and complete recovery.

Yep. My grandfather had it and I didn't even know about it until after he died (of non-prostate cancer causes).

Also, Rickey Jackson could probably get one of the death sentence types of cancers and beat it easily. Dude is a monster.

If his prostate is to scale, it would reportedly be roughly volleyball-sized.

No homo, just heard from a former media person who covered the Saints in the mid & late '80s.

If you randomly biopsied the prostates of 100 men over 70, probably half of them would have prostate cancer.

It is a weird cancer. Usually very slow to progress and most men die with it rather than from it.
