Bountygate was a disaster. But, at the same time, he had to do something about it considering the NFL's issues with concussions and the ongoing lawsuit at that time.

He totally used the Saints as a fall guy for the concussion deal. They were getting hammered about concussions so they created an incident to act like they were doing something about it.

Goodell is a POS. I think his seat will get hotter in the next few days. If it continues to increase each owner will have to publicly support or not support him. As of now he says he has the owners support. I'm waiting to hear what Benson has to say. If he supports this douchebag, I'm not going to another Saints game till he passes away.

Why ask that 2nd question? It was an obvious answer, but worse than that, it gave Goodell a break from having to answer the first question. Reporters these days...

It really is ridiculous how so many of these clowns have jobs. Although given the peanuts most of these beat reporters are paid for those jobs, it's really nota huge surprise I guess.

I like seeing him squirm. I could have forgiven him for making a mistake in the AP case but I am not willing to let him get away with being a hypocrite. Since he put the screws to the Saints, I hope the screws get put to him.

Reporter asked him: You suspended Sean Payton for a year. You said "Ignorance is not an excuse", a lot of people think you're not holding yourself to that standard. Have you considered resigning?

He said no, he's focused on doing his job.

Offensive tackle Zach Strief, who serves as the Saints' union rep, told reporters that he doesn't believe Goodell should lose his job. But he suggested that a season-long suspension would be a fitting punishment for Goodell since that's what Goodell handed Payton.

"What is the precedent for making a colossal mistake?" Strief told reporters. "The precedent has been you missed a season. It's very simple. The exact situation has already happened, and it happened here. There was a punishment and that was the punishment.

"Unfortunately for Roger, he set the precedent. He said, 'You made a big mistake, it cost the league, it's harmed the shield.' Here's what it was before. To me, that's the only fair thing. Not that that matters."
