Looks like a shoulder to the chest. If there was any contact to the helmet it was a graze not visable in that shot. and he went through the ball. It's not like he just decked him after the ball went past them.

should not have been a flag or fine.

Did we watch the same play? That was PI and helmet to helmet... Should have been a bigger fine IMO.

s the league claiming that Rafael swung his head to initiate contact?

That is what I argue with. He led with his shoulder the whole time.

I can understand the call on the field just not the review.

This is the kinda crap that has the NFL pointed in flag football direction. Yeah, I like old school rock'em sock'em. The bigger issue is enforcement. They are creating rules that are extremely difficult to see or call correctly in real time. The more subjective judgement that is infused the worse the sport will be IMO. It's becoming standard to see several missed calls in these defined hits as well as some called that should not have been. I'm not optimistic about the state of the NFL 10 years from now.

Rafael tweets on it (apparently some grief from seachicken fans)

That wasn't PI, not everyone n close as it was being called in that game. It looked to me like Bush was playing the ball after the tip anybody else see that, looked like he tried to catch the ball

And they should let the players go over the film thru out the year and fine all hits similar to this same one and fine everyone of those assholes too!!!! No matter if they from the freakn NE or West Coast. If one guy is fined they should all be fined

There's no way the refs can see some of this stuff in real time. So they just throw a flag for any violent hit.

(b) Prohibited contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture is:

(1) Forcibly hitting the defenseless player’s head or neck area with the helmet, facemask, forearm, or shoulder, even if the initial contact of the defender’s helmet or facemask is lower than the passer’s neck, and regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the defenseless player by encircling or grasping him;

Note 2: A player who initiates contact against a defenseless opponent is responsible for avoiding an illegal act. This includes illegal contact that may occur during the process of attempting to dislodge the ball from an opponent. A standard of strict liability applies for any contact against a defenseless opponent, even if the opponent is an airborne player who is returning to the ground or whose body position is otherwise in motion, and irrespective of any acts by the defenseless opponent, such as ducking his head or curling up his body in anticipation of contact

That is one of the most fricking retarded things I have ever read

To those who say its a easy call and they got it right can stand on that above statement from the NFL.

Anyone else sees Bush lining up for the hit at pad level and then turning his shoulder into Harvin. Harvin is going down to bush's level thus getting his bell rung(more on the field I think).
If a player changes his direction to put his helmet on a helmet I could could get the review but thats not what I saw.

This... "A standard of strict liability" though lets the NFL see whatever they wish too at any time they wish

I still don't see anything in that rule that says if an offensive player initiates helmet contact, the defender is flagged.

They didn't call defenseless, they called helmet to helmet, or am I mistaken?
