This is the type of pick you make when you have a roster in decent shape and a surplus of picks. We have neither of those. QB lottery ticket picks when you can fill depth on the lines is questionable

Exactly what this team needed, another long shot to ever see the field QB.

High school: Missed most of his senior season at Pinnacle High School (though he set an Arizona record for career passing yards first) after being suspended from school for 30 days for an undisclosed reason. Was one of the players featured on the QB1 Netflix show.
2019 (Oklahoma): Redshirted. Played in 3 games as a reserve (7-11-63.6, 81 yards, one TD passing; 3-23-7.7 rushing).
2020 (Oklahoma): Honorable Mention All-Big 12 Conference. Ranked eighth in the FBS with 28 passing TDs (against 7 INTs) and 10th with 3,031 passing yards (214-317-67.5). Started all 11 games (81-160-2.0, 6 TDs rushing).
2021 (Oklahoma): Started the first 6 games (140-187-74.9, 1,483 yards, 11 TDs, 5 INTs passing; 43-77-1.8, 3 TDs rushing). Caleb Williams took over the starting job. Entered the transfer portal after the regular season.
2022: Started all 13 games (264-399-66.2, 3,026 yards, 18 TDs, 12 INTs passing; 3 rushing TDs).
2023: Set school record by completing 68.9 percent of his passes (275-399, 3,186 yards, 19 TDs, 8 INTs). Started all 12 games (97-104-1.1, 4 TDs rushing).
