Penalties are a direct reflection of coaching

One of the easiest metrics to gauge the coaching of a team is penalties. It’s black and white.

Saints last in the league in penalty yards. Makes sense.

The Saints finished in the 20s 9 out of his 16 years and 27th or lower 5 of those. But also the top 10 5 times. So was he a good or a bad coach?

If you look at penalties per game the Saints are pretty much in the middle at 18 this season.
