Peyton, when asked about the officiating and 12 men in the huddle: "Listen, I said I'm not going to get into the officiating. ... [gets into the officiating] ... They had 12 men in the huddle twice. They're getting that right on Friday nights. Next question."

I knew he wouldn't be able to resist! Get 'em Sean.

The NFL officials are a good ole boy club. These guys aren't good and have ruined the NFL.

And because of they got their way with the strike they'll never get any better. We're just going to have to get used to it.

I refuse to melt, but i really wish sean would melt. I want to see that he still has his balls that he appears to have left in 2010.

What can he do? Petition the league? Write a strongly-worded letter (that will end up in the trash) to Roger "Dickless" Goodell? No, it's the nature of the NFL to create a sub-par product for a premium price.

The head official for the game today has only been the league for two years. This lends more credence to the NFL's position that they might mix and match the refs crews to pair more with less experienced refs. That's probably the best option at this point.

Yep, spot on. The officiating has been/ will continue to be rough moving forward. The turnover on officials lately is crazy. A lot of officials are pretty new to the NFL and almost looks like the stage is too big for them

High School refs can even make that call. Basically, gave them the verbal middle finger.

Yeah, I heard a female ref made a call for something that happened 3 years ago.

The officiating is a direct result of the mandate from the NFL, they are only enforcing it. It has become a joke though. There is defensive holding every other play in every game it seems like now. Things you used to get away with you can't anymore. How hard is it to come up with a catch rule. I blame Goodell and it seems like since bountygate the Saints get flagged more than anyone now.

I think Pierra (sp) stated that a timeout was called. Did anyone else hear that and how would that explain what occurred?

They flat out missed 12 in the huddle, but as far as 12 in the formation, the explanation was that since timeout was called before the play, there was no play and no play = no penalty.

At least that's how I understood it.

12 in formation is a penalty too.

It's just not reviewable until the ball is snapped.

So, the issue was that i wasn't reviewable because the timeout was called.
